What's wrong with the right? It has become a political movement, disconnected from a larger, more complicated and diverse social and cultural tradition. By the 1980s the right had transformed the Republican Party, had articulated a clear if not consistent agenda. After Reagan the right turned policy agendas into ideological objectives. What made their ideology different was the apocalyptic quality to the struggle for power. With the right ideas, the good cause, the right settled into a Manichean language that demonized opponents. The international aviation community recognizes the high human and economic costs associated with bird strikes. Hundreds of lives and millions of dollars have been lost in recent years because of this problem. Microcantilevers provide an ideal platform for biosensors. The micron-sized transducer brings several advantages, such as high sensitivity, small sample quantity for analysis, portability, implantable sensor devices, and the ability to be mass produced and integrated into standard microelectronic processing technologies like complementary metal oxide seminconductors (CMOS).

The objective of this research is to investigate and develop modification methods of microcanitlevers for biosensing applications.

Two microcantilever modification methods were investigated. They are self-assembly monolayer method and layer-by-layer method. Nebraska's Indian population exploded in the summer of 1898, but it was not due to natural increase. More than 500 Indians representing twenty-three tribes came to Omaha as part of the United States Indian Bureau's exhibit at the Trans-Mississippi Exposition. During their three-month stay at the world's fair, Indians engaged in dancing, feasting, visiting, and earned money performing sham battles. In doing so they demonstrated not only the vibrancy and resilience of Native American cultures, but also the ineffectiveness of the government's assimilation policy. This essay pays tribute to William Van Alstyne, one of our foremost constitutional scholars, by applying the methods of textual interpretation he laid out in a classic essay, "Interpreting This Constitution: On the Unhelpful Contribution of Special Theories of Judicial Review." I make use of the graphical methods Van Alstyne has applied to the general study of the First Amendment to examine the Supreme Court's recent decisions in the context of the Free Exercise Clause, in particular the landmark case of "Employment Division v. The military intends to increase the number of UAVs in service while at the same time reducing the number of operators (Dixon, Wickens & Chang; 2004). To meet this demand, many of the current UAV operator functions will need to be automated. How automation is applied to modern systems is not fixed. Levels of automation exist along a continuum from fully manual to fully automatic. A Common Tragedy: Promises To Benefit The Public Interest And The Enforceability Problem, Irma S. Russell

This article examines the challenge of enforcing promises made to benefit the public, using environmental commitments such as wetland restoration as a central example. It argues that while contractual promises between private parties are routinely enforced, similar promises made to the public often fail due to lack of effective enforcement mechanisms. Drawing on Garrett Hardin’s “Tragedy of the Commons,” the paper explores how individual incentives discourage both performance and enforcement of such promises. The analysis highlights the limitations of agency resources, barriers to citizen enforcement, and the inadequacy of existing legal frameworks to ensure accountability for public benefit commitments. The Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center has developed a methodology for testing operational-level training simulation systems. The methodology is built on analyses of the military tasks that an operational-level simulation is intended to train. These tasks are derived from the U.S. Department of Defense Universal Joint Task List. The methodology analyzes the categories of capabilities the simulation should have to support those tasks based on operational-level-military entities and actions. Cross-referencing the tasks and capabilities leads to functionality items the simulation should have. Our original proposal included designing, developing and delivering one entirely new distance learning history course, 302 Modern Europe and revising and upgrading an existing distance learning history course, 301 Modern America. Building these two courses would have resulted in two comprehensive bibliographies of online instructional resources, one for use in European history courses and one for use in American history courses, whether taught in distance learning or campus formats.
