In August 2004, we had the opportunity to travel to Jamaica to lead a pilot workshop for Jamaican high school math teachers. The workshop focused on the importance of mathematical context in the teaching of mathematics. It was sponsored by the Gibraltar Institute, a Jamaica-based nongovernmental organization led by Trevor Campbell (Pomona College) and Reginald Nugent (Cal State Pomona), Jamaica’s College of Agriculture, Science and Education, and Harvey Mudd College.

Creativity and Change Leadership Graduate Student Master's Projects
The National Catholic Youth Conference 2005 was held in Atlanta from October 27th to October 30th. A Programming Team, of which I was the director designed prayer for five major prayer sessions, which involved many youth leaders and 18,000 youth participants. Over the course of 5 months, I met with the Programming Team, a Technical Crew and the Sponsoring Organization, as well as several committees who had to approve the scripts. Prior to the conference, the Programming Team trained young animators into various leadership roles: singers, cantors, readers and movers. At the conference, it was my responsibility to see that …

The Effect Of Nitrogen Fertilizer Application To Maize And Sorghum On The Bionomics Of Chilo Partellus (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) And The Performance Of Its Larval Parasitoid Cotesia Flavipes (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), N. Jiang, F. Schulthess
All Peer-Reviewed Publications
Laboratory and field trials were conducted to evaluate the effect of plant species (maize, sorghum), plant age (young, middle, old) and four different nitrogen fertilization levels (N0-N3) on the bionomics of the invasive crambid Chilo partellus and the performance of its braconid larval parasitoid Cotesia flavipes. Plant N varied significantly between N0 and N1-N3, but the differences among the latter were not significant. Intrinsic rates of increase and net-reproductive rates of C. partellus followed the same trends: they were lowest with N0 and similar among the other treatments. On maize only, mortality of C. partellus and parasitism by C. flavipes …

Resource-Based View Of Knowledge Management For Competitive Advantage, Leila A. Halawi, Jay E. Aronson, Richard V. Mccarthy
Publications
We are not only in a new millennium, but also in a new era: the knowledge era. Sustainable competitive advantage is dependent on building and exploiting core competencies. The resource-based view (RBV) of the firm defines a strategic asset as one that is rare, valuable, imperfectly imitiable and non-substitutable. Knowledge is seen as a strategic asset with the potential to be a source of competitive advantage for an organization. In this paper, we provide a model that examines how and why knowledge management (KM) can be sued to create competitive advantage from the RBV of the firm.

This report provides information on and analysis of the size, composition and geographic distribution of paid employment by the nonprofit sector in New Mexico for the year 2003.
