Crop Price Declines Could Trigger Revenue Insurance Indemnities, H. Douglas Jose
Cornhusker Economics
Two occurrences that could affect grain producers’ incomes this year have just come into play. The first is the establishment of the harvest price for the crop insurance revenue programs. The second is the counter cyclical payments for the farm commodity program.

University of Mississippi News
Was the polling data flawed, or did pre-election opinion polls and exit polling accurately predict the outcome of yesterday's presidential election? What do the results -- including Republican gains in Congress and the passage of key ballot issues -- mean for both parties and the nation over the next four years? University of Mississippi faculty members are available to share insights on these and other topics.

A Genome Scan For Quantitative Trait Loci And Imprinted Regions Affecting Reproduction In Pigs, J. W. Holl, J. P. Cassady, D. Pomp, R. K. Johnson
Department of Animal Science: Faculty Publications
Quantitative trait loci for reproductive traits in a three-generation resource population of a cross between low-indexing pigs from a control line and high-indexing pigs from a line selected 10 generations for increased index of ovulation rate and embryonic survival are reported. Phenotypic data were collected in F2 females for birth weight (BWT, n = 428), weaning weight (WWT, n = 405), age at puberty (AP, n = 295), ovulation rate (OR, n = 423), number of fully formed pigs (FF, n = 370), number of pigs born alive (NBA, n = 370), number of mummified pigs (MUM, n = 370), …

Department of Animal Science: Faculty Publications
The objective of this study was to compare growth and carcass traits of 1,252 progeny of six commercially available dam lines included in the National Pork Producers Council Maternal Line Evaluation Project. Lines compared included one maternal line supplied by each of American Diamond Swine Genetics (ADSG), Danbred NA (DB), two lines supplied by Monsanto Choice Genetics (DK and GPK347), Newsham Hybrids (NH), and Landrace × Large White females supplied by the National Swine Registry (NSR). All females were mated to DB, Duroc-Hampshire terminal sires. Traits analyzed were ADG from 56 to 115 kg live weight, days to 115 kg, …

Cornell Law Faculty Working Papers
The Government Printing Office (GPO http://www.gpoaccess.gov/) digitization efforts have the goal to provide permanent public access in electronic form to publications of the United States Federal government, following the American principle that citizens should have free access to government information. By law and tradition, GPO has provided access to official publications regarding the three branches of the Federal government, Congress, the judiciary, and the executive, since 1813. Sample legal publications include bills, congressional reports and hearings, Congressional Record, public and private laws, U.S. Code, Federal Register, Code of Federal Regulations, Supreme Court decisions, federal agency reports and documents.

Linearity Optimization Of Power Transistors Utilizing Harmonic Terminations, Ravi Kumar Varanasi
Linearity Optimization Of Power Transistors Utilizing Harmonic Terminations, Ravi Kumar Varanasi
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
This thesis focuses on the characterization and optimization of microwave power transistors using a commercial on-wafer harmonic load pull system. Specific attention is paid to the output tuning of the second harmonic impedance presented to the device. The ability to quantify the level of accuracy in a load pull system is explored by using various calibration validation methods, including a method called Delta-Gt. In this work experiments and simulation comparisons are described for three different device technologies, namely GaAs pHEMT, GaAs HJFET and InGaP HBT. Externally supplied non-linear models were used for the simulations and these were exercised and compared …
Applying The Wrapper Approach For Auto Discovery Of Under-Sampling And Over-Sampling Percentages On Skewed Datasets, Ajay D. Joshi
Applying The Wrapper Approach For Auto Discovery Of Under-Sampling And Over-Sampling Percentages On Skewed Datasets, Ajay D. Joshi
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Machine learning applications are plagued by the imbalance observed among the class sizes in many real world datasets. A dataset is said to be skewed or imbalanced when its classes are very unequally represented. A naïve classifier learned from these skewed datasets is always biased towards the majority classes which constitute a major percentage of the samples in the dataset. As a result the accuracy on the minority classes is hampered. In many real world applications like network intrusion detection, cancer detection from mammography images, etc. the events of interest are very rare and the cost of not detecting these …

Role Of A Cytotoxic-T-Lymphocyte Epitope-Defined, Alternative Gag Open Reading Frame In The Pathogenesis Of A Murine Retrovirus-Induced Immunodeficiency Syndrome, Arti Gaur, William R. Green
Dartmouth Scholarship
LP-BM5 murine leukemia virus-infected C57BL/6 mice develop profound immunodeficiency and B-cell lymphomas. The LP-BM5 complex contains a mixture of defective (BM5def) and replication-competent helper viruses among which BM5def is the primary causative agent of disease. The BM5def primary open reading frame (ORF1) encodes the single gag precursor protein (Pr60gag). Our lab has recently demonstrated that a novel immunodominant cytotoxic-T-lymphocyte (CTL) epitope (SYNTGRFPPL) is expressed from a +1-nucleotide translational open reading frame of BM5def during the course of normal retrovirus expression. The SYNTGRFPPL CTL epitope may be generated from either of two initiation methionines present, ORF2a or ORF2b, located …
