Israel Poultry Farmers Association V. Government Of Israel, Dorit Beinisch, Aharon Barak, Mishael Cheshin

Translated Opinions

Petition to the Supreme Court sitting as the High Court of Justice

Facts: The Knesset enacted the Israel Economic Recovery Programme (Legislative Amendments for Achieving Budgetary Goals and the Economic Policy for the 2003 and 2004 Fiscal Years) Law, 5763-2003, which contained, in chapter 11, major changes to the regulation of the agricultural sector in Israel. This law, which contains many diverse provisions, was passed in a rushed process with very little debate either in the House or the committees of the Knesset.

The petitioners claimed, for a wide variety of reasons, that chapter 11, the ‘Agriculture Chapter,’ should be …

The Role Of Dairy Products In The Calcium Intake Of Suburban Adolescents, Simie Bredeweg-Dejager

Masters Theses

The purpose of this study was to examine consumption of dairy products by suburban adolescents. This was a secondary analysis of data from a questionnaire administered in late fall of 2003. There were 255 adolescents who completed the questionnaire. Data were examined to estimate calcium intake from dairy products.

There was a significant difference in the amount of calcium adolescents consume from cheese, compared to that supplied by milk (t = -8.502, p = .000). Further analyzing by gender, there was a significant difference between boys and girls intake of milk and cheese. No significant difference was found between boys …

Faculty Publications

Neutron data observed using the Neutron Spectrometer aboard 2001 Mars Odyssey provide a lower limit to the global inventory of Martian water-equivalent hydrogen. Hydrogen-rich deposits ranging between about 20% and 100% water-equivalent by mass are found poleward of 4-50°latitude, and less rich, but significant, deposits are found at near-equatorial latitudes. The equatorial deposits between +45° latitude range between 2% and 10% water-equivalent hydrogen by mass and reach their maximum in two regions that straddle the 0-km elevation contour. Higher water abundances, up to ∼11%, are required in subsurface regolith of some equatorial regions if the upper 10 g/cm 2 of …
