Workstation Interface For Use In Digital Mammography And Associated Methods, Maria Kallergi, Laurence P. Clarke, Himanshu J. Gohel, Michal Vossberg

A workstation-user interface for evaluating computer assisted diagnosis (CAD) methods for digital mammography is disclosed. Implementation of such an interface enables multiple, large-size images to be handled at high speeds. Furthermore, controls such as contrast, pan, and zoom, and tools such as reporting forms, case information, and analysis of results are included. The software and hardware used to develop such a workstation and interface were based on Sun platforms and the Unix operating system. The software is user friendly, and comparable to standard mammography film reading in terms of display layout and speed. The software, as designed, will work on …

Manuscript Collection

The Paul D. Workman Photograph Collection consists of photographs taken by Rock Hill, SC resident and WWII veteran Major Paul D. Workman (1900-1968). Maj. Workman was the nephew of Winthrop founder and first president, David Bancroft Johnson (1856-1928) through Dr. Johnson’s half-sister Florence Nance Workman (1872-1940). The collection consists of 168 slides, 5 negatives, and 76 photograph prints. Most of the images are of Rock Hill, SC and are of spring scenes including Glencairn Gardens and other gardens, the Rock Hill Centennial Parade in 1952, local businesses, Sullivan Middle School (formerly Rock Hill High School, the Southern Rail Road, and …

The Nevada Seismological Laboratory began seismic monitoring operations under the DOE-UCCSN Cooperative Agreement on 11/01/1999. This final report summarizes our activities and studies made in the four years up to 09/30/2003. Previously, NSL operated under the M&O for the Yucca Mountain Project from October 1995 through September 1999 and under the U. S. Geological Survey from October 1992 through September 1995. For purposes of this report, earthquakes occurring in the years FY1998 and FY1999 were analyzed in the first two years of the NSL’s involvement with the Cooperative Agreement, and they will be treated here, along with the data in …

Thomas Bean’s felony conviction in Mexico implicated provisions of federal law that preclude certain persons, including specified felons, from owning or trading in firearms and ammunition which have been transported in interstate commerce. 18 USC Sec. 922. Affected persons can seek relief from the federal firearms disability by invoking procedures established in 18 USC Sec. 925(c) under the Dept of Treasury, Director of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (“ATF”). Beginning in 1992, Congress has enacted provisions annually in the ATF’s appropriations laws that ban it from investigating or acting upon Sec. 925(c) applications from individuals.
