Research and Training Center - Focal Point
The authors of the articles in this issue of Focal Point represent a spectrum of Wraparound's stakeholder groups—family members, service providers, trainers, and researchers. From their different perspectives, they discuss the issues of quality and fidelity. What is striking is the extent to which these perspectives converge in their descriptions of successful practice and implementation. This Focal Point issue is evidence that substantial progress is being made in bringing a clearer focus to the Wraparound vision.

Adult Attitudes About Youth Participation In Community Organizations, Marilyn F. Rasmussen
Adult Attitudes About Youth Participation In Community Organizations, Marilyn F. Rasmussen
Journal of Extension
Many youth development professionals advocate for youth participation in civic and community organizations, but how do the leaders of these organizations feel about inviting youth to become partners in the decision-making process? A small-scale survey indicated that one-fourth of the responding organizations in South Dakota currently had some level of youth participation. More than half of the leaders of the remaining organizations indicated that youth should be consulted and invited to participate as members of their organizations. Youth development professionals should be encouraged by these results to explore potential youth and adult partnerships within their communities.

Fact Book
The Fact Book has been designed to present a variety of information and data about the University, in a concise, easily-used format. We have included details regarding student and faculty information broken out by college, rank, level, gender, age and ethnicity for both spring and fall semesters. This year we have added additional faculty information which includes both full and part-time by gender and ethnicity. Full-Time excludes faculty on phased retirement and includes six Senior Research Associates not in the bargaining unit. Part-Time includes 15 partial retired bargaining unit faculty. Pedagogy For The Economically Privileged: “Tuning In” To The Privileged Learner, Ann Curry-Stevens
School of Social Work Faculty Publications and Presentations
Today’s activists are challenged by the sheer scope of losses by social movements. We have lost most significant battles and have moved into a defensive position struggling to retain earlier gains in social policy. The gap between rich and poor continues to widen, and it is clear that we need new allies in the struggles for justice. The middle class has been eyed as potential allies, with the hope that in bringing their resources, information, and power to bear, progressive social change will result. This paper draws from dissertation research on a pedagogy for the privileged: research that involves transformative …

In this study, the authors examined the influence of White racial identity on working alliance perceptions in a cross-racial vicarious counseling analogue. A significant interaction effect was found between race of the counselor vignette and White racial identity attitudes.

Main Street Multidisciplinary Practice Firms: Laboratories For The Future, Susan Poser
Main Street Multidisciplinary Practice Firms: Laboratories For The Future, Susan Poser
University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform
This Article examines the debate over multidisciplinary practice in the wake of the collapse of Enron and Arthur Andersen. Part I addresses the history of the scholarly debate about multidisciplinary practice in the United States. It discusses the focus on large multidisciplinary firms, feared threats to independent professional judgment, and the current rule concerning lawyers and multidisciplinary practice.
Part II examines the reasons for allowing multidisciplinary practice. The author argues that client demand, lawyer demand, and policy reasons all provide valid reasons for permitting "one-stop" shopping. Part I also discusses existing forms of multidisciplinary practice. The author argues that the …
