In this document we describe the Distributed Speech Recognition (DSR) front end large vocabulary continuous speech recognition (LVCSR) evaluations being conducted by the Aurora Working Group of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). The objective of these evaluations is to determine the robustness of different front ends for use in client/server type telecommunications applications. The 5000-word closed-loop vocabulary task based on the DARPA Wall Street Journal (WSJ0) Corpus was chosen for these evaluations. The experiments were designed to test the following focus conditions:

Novel general expressions are constructed and presented that describe the behavior of the height equivalent of a theoretical plate (plate height), H, as a function of the linear velocity, Vx, along the axis, x, of the column and the kinetic parameters that characterize the mass transfer and adsorption mechanisms in chromatographic columns. Open tube capillaries as well as columns packed with either non-porous or porous particles are studied. The porous particles could have unimodal or bimodal pore-size distributions and intraparticle convective fluid flow and pore diffusion are considered. Bertha Yvonne (LeClair) Libby was born March 3, 1922 to Joseph and Florida LeClair, the seventh of twelve children. She attended St. Peter's Catholic School in Lewiston until the seventh grade. She was a waitress for many years at Steckino's Restaurant in downtown Lewiston and has vivid memories of serving Democratic politicians.

Joanne (Charest) Ducharme was born in Lewiston, Maine on May 16, 1942. She grew up in the Lewiston Franco-American community, and her primary education was in parochial schools. As a teenager she worked at shops in downtown Lewiston before working at the Raytheon plant for a time. She lived in Bangor where her husband served in the military, and then returned to the Lewiston area. She is a member of Sur Vivance Francais, a Franco-American cultural group for women.

The Assessment Of Language Delays In Preschoolers With The Differential Abilities Scales, Tracey Walenta

Theses

Language-delayed preschoolers are a heterogeneous population with diverse language skills and needs. Research has demonstrated the need for more psychometrically sound assessment instruments to accurately identify preschoolers with language delays and their specific subtypes in the general preschool population. Research has also demonstrated the Differential Ability Scales to be an effective and psychometrically sound assessment measure for differentiating among preschoolers across a broad range of skills and abilities. The purpose of this study was to examine the utility of the Differential Ability Scales in distinguishing language-delayed preschoolers and specific subtypes of language delays in the general preschool population.
