The Intelligent Reconfigurable Optical Switch (IROS) is an N x N optical switch that uses two reflective Liquid Crystal (LC) Spatial Light Modulators (SLM} in a "Z" configuration to steer the incoming beams from the input ports to the designated output ports. Copper ions are dissolved from highly pure copper plate into the methanol during copper decoration process. As a result, copper concentration in methanol is increased with time. The copper concentration in methanol measured by ICP-OES is correlated well with the calculated value based on the magnitude of current and time during the process. Consequently, higher magnitude of current can be applied to build up copper concentration in methanol in shorter period. When copper ions are ejected in methanol, they are positively charged. A survey of the zonal wind throughout the troposphere and the lower stratosphere near the equator is made for the 41-year period of 1958-98. A similar survey of the 500- hPa geopotential height, sea surface temperature (SST) and tropopause height is also made, except that the survey period for the tropopause height is shorter than 41 years due to unavailability of data. Other than the well-known Quasi-Biennial Oscillation (QBO) feature in the lower stratosphere and the Tropospheric Biennial Oscillation (TBO) feature exhibited by the SST, similar oscillation features are found throughout the whole troposphere by both surveys. "Traditionally, investors have viewed bonds as boring investments that do not give good returns and that burdens portfolios," says Dale Bryant, a portfolio manager. "They couldn't be more misled. Sometimes bonds can do better than equities. Adding bonds can reduce portfolio volatility." Bryant's statement forms the crux of this research project. A study on the effects of fish cage aquaculture on the zooplankton was carried out in the Matang mangrove estuary, Perak, Malaysia. Investigations consisting of 4-month study and 12-hour study were conducted. Zooplankton were sampled inside and away from floating fish cage culture areas in Sangga Besar (SSB) river and in an adjacent nonaquaculture river, Sangga Kecil (SSK), in order to examine the effect of fish cage culture on zooplankton abundance. The development of Resource Based Industries (RBIs) in Malaysia since it was first launched in 1984 has seen as turning point of the industry to gain momentum in line with the corresponding industrial policy. By using the two inputs Cobb-Douglass model specifically growth accounting model, this study tries to estimate the total factor productivity (TFP) growth for the periods of 1981-1997 in collaboration to review its development and resilient performance. Using the 3-digit-level industrial classification, it was found that six (out of 14) of the RBIs show a positive gain of TFP growth.
