Friendship Quality In Youth Disability Sport: Perceptions Of A Best Friend, Jeffrey J. Martin, Kerry Smith

Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies

The purpose of the current investigation was to examine friendship quality with a best friend in youth disability sport with an international sample of moderately experienced athletes with disabilities ages 9 to 18 years. Participants were 85 males and 65 females from four countries who competed in track and field and swimming. Data were collected with the Sport Friendship Quality Scale (Weiss & Smith, 1999). An exploratory factor analyses indicated that participants viewed their friendship quality with a best friend in disability sport as having both positive and negative dimensions. Swosu Fact Book Fall 2002, Denisa Engelman

Fact Books

I am proud to introduce the eleventh annual Southwestern Oklahoma State University Fact Book. It provides a ready source of information to answer frequently asked questions about the University and its operations. Unless otherwise noted, the information in this Fact Book came from computer-generated reports that are printed following the tenth class day of each fall semester. Because of student fluctuations during the semester, numbers will not match other published enrollment numbers that may be based on enrollment at the end of a semester.

Toward Reparations Policy In Ghana A Study Of The Reparations Movement In Ghana, West Africa., Elizabeth Whittaker

African Diaspora ISPs

Ghana has a history of being an impetus for Pan-African change. However, the reparations movement that recently gained international attention at the United Nations World Conference Against Racism does not yet have an organized mass-base of consensus of awareness in Ghana. While many people agree that the slave trade and colonialism have contributed to Ghana's problems of poverty, unemployment, and limited educational resources, few have associated these needs with the term "reparations".

Organizational Persistence And Change: A Case Study Of A Community College, Paula L. Welmers Oct 2002

Organizational Persistence And Change: A Case Study Of A Community College, Paula L. Welmers

Master's Theses and Doctoral Dissertations

This longitudinal case study examined the origins, growth, and development of one community college in Michigan, North Central Michigan College (NCMC). The purpose of the study was to understand organizational persistence and change through learning how one organization formed and developed over time.

Five eras between 1958 and 1995 were described, and a conceptual frame considered three levels of organizational responsibility: national, state, and local environments; core technology activities; and leadership activities. Core technology activities were further analyzed using eight indicators of centrality and marginality: a) policy, b) number and type of employees, c) dedicated facilities; d) funding source, e) …

Macroeconomic And Political Instabilities In Sub-Saharan Africa, James Gaius Ibe Oct 2002

Macroeconomic And Political Instabilities In Sub-Saharan Africa, James Gaius Ibe

African Social Science Review

The analysis uses macroeconomic models designed to capture the direct impact of political instability on macroeconomic stability, and the effect of macroeconomic instability on political stability. The model is an adaptation of the neo-classical production function with fixed-effects formulated to explore the postulated interdependencies in key sub-Saharan countries over the period 1960-1990. The estimates indicate that macroeconomic instability indices as well as unemployment and inflation are positive and significantly correlated with the political instability variable. Also, there is a significant negative relationship between political instability and the nations economic output as measured by the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Furthermore, there …
