A Study Of The Therapeutic Working Alliance, Client Motivation For Therapy And Subsequent Self-Reported Charges In Abusive Behavior Among A Sample Of Male Batterers From The Abuse Ceases Today Program, Jennifer M. Lauretti

This study examined the impact of the therapeutic alliance and client motivation for therapy on program completion and changes in self-reported abusive behavior among a sample of 88 adult male domestic violence perpetrators who attended a group counseling program for male batterers. Results revealed evidence of significant differential Group change (completers vs. noncompleters) with regard to treatment outcome, as measured by decreased husband-to-wife psychological and physical aggression. In addition, Internal Motivation for Therapy and a strong Working Alliance were not significantly related to treatment completion. Level of education was not found to be a significant predictor of self-reported changes in …

Surabaya is Indonesia’s second largest city but is not well known to the outside world. Yet in 1900, Surabaya was a bigger city than Jakarta and one of the main commercial centers of Asia. Collapse of sugar exports during the 1930s depression, followed by the Japanese occupation, revolution, and independence, brought on a long period of stagnation and retreat from the international economy. Not until the export boom of the 1990s did Surabaya regain prominence as Southeast Asia’s leading non–capital–city industrial area. This study focuses on the level, stressors and symptoms of stress on bus drivers of ICB. This study was carried out at Intrakota Consolidated Berhad (!CB), Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. A total of 138 respondents answered the questionnaires that have been distributed and 50 observations have been made thoroughly upon the ICB bus drivers within the area of Lembah Kelang. This dissertation is a study on manuscript of "Kitab Ghayat al-Mar'am" by Syeikh Daud bin 'Abdullah al-Fatani which is catalogued as MSS 2838 in Malaysia National Library. It is selected on the basis that there is no study yet in great depth in the Malay Language with regard to the haj and 'umrah pilgrimage. The analysis is made using the transliteration method. This dissertation studies the debate between "Kaum Tua" ( traditionalist moslem group) and "Kaum Muda" (modernist moslem movement) in Minangkabau, West Sumatera, Indonesia in the early decades of twentieth century. Some Islamic thought problems are discussed, such as tariqah, tawassul and wasilah, rabitah, ijtihad and modernization of Islamic thought. Kaum Tua was known to be very tolerant in practicing their Islamic beliefs and was able to combine it with original Minangkabau's culture and customs which were influenced by some teachings of animism, dynamism and hinduism.
