Makara Human Behavior Studies in Asia
Tropes have always attracted the attention of specialists in linguistic as well as in literature, but it seems that there are still some problems which can not be solved, some topics are not yet explained clearly. This research is an effort to understand the formation of tropes from semantic point of view. It does not claim to analyse all tropes, because there are too many tropes to be analysed. By telling about the relation between the signifier, the signified and the referent, this research tries to achieve a better understanding of the problems related to the tropes.

Hamlet Haven: An Online, Annotated Bibliography, Harmonie Loberg
Hamlet Haven: An Online, Annotated Bibliography, Harmonie Loberg
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The Challenge: Today a daunting quantity of scholarship relating to Hamlet exists. While databases and electronic catalogues aid research, these directories present a virtual wall of minimal bibliographic data. Sorting through lists still takes eons. Meanwhile, new publications are constantly added to the academic stacks that ever threaten to tumble over.
The Solution: A web site that groups together scholarly publications using similar approaches and treating similar subjects will translate the overwhelming into the maneuverable. The online medium will provide accessibility to everyone--student, research assistant, instructor, scholar--and will guarantee the opportunity to update this resource on a regular basis.

Theses and Dissertations
This creative dissertation is a multifaceted meditation on technological civilization circa 2000, from the imagined perspective o f an archaeologist/linguist writing some eight hundred years in the future, as well as his grandson writing two generations later. The Andes-born protagonist looks back on a career during which he has led efforts to reconstruct the English language and the cultural ambience o f a dimly remembered and heavily mythologized “Dosmil” (a contraction of Spanish “Dos Mil” for the year 2000), beginning with excavation of newspaper and magazine fragments found in the one-time English speaking country o f Belize. In a world …
