Student Works

Brick Oven Restaurant was established in 1956 as one of Provo's first pizza parlors, named "Heaps a Pizza." In those days, pizza was a new food and most people had never eaten it. After being an employee since 1958, Glee Zumbrennen purchased the restaurant in 1962. The dining room consisted of folding chairs and a few booths that sat about 75 people. The business continued to grow, and the folding chairs and benches gave way to upholstered booths. Pizza was becoming more popular and Heaps was developing a wide reputation for its delicious pizza. Organizational Climate And Commitment: A Case Study Of An Urban Nonprofit Organization, William Sawyer Grant Jan 2002

Organizational Climate And Commitment: A Case Study Of An Urban Nonprofit Organization, William Sawyer Grant

Theses and Dissertations in Urban Services - Urban Management

This qualitative study investigates the relationship between the two constructs: Organizational Climate and Organizational Commitment.

Litwin and Stringer (1968) suggested that a molar model is needed to explain employee behavior and motivation. Climate was proposed as this molar construct. Research concerning Organizational Climate resulted in multiple definitions and little consensus concerning the number and use of multiple dimensions of this construct. The almost exclusive use of survey methods coupled with methodological confusion with Organizational Culture created difficulty with the use of this important construct.

Organizational Commitment research resulted in a number of competing definitions. Research by Meyer and Allen (1997) …

Students' familiarity and perceptions of the peer mediation program were assessed. The findings indicated that students were aware of the Peacemaking program. However, students also suggested that the school could do a better job providing information about the program. The data also indicated that the majority of students believed that peacemaking was effective and reported that the peacemakers were neutral and confidential. Most students also indicated that they would ask for help from a peacemaker if they …

Parental Perceptions On Maintaining Heritage Languages Of Cld Students, Ruth Lingxin Yan

Dissertations and Theses @ UNI

The rapid growth of the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) students in public schools of the United States has been steady in the past decades. Issues concerning CLD students such as their school failures, high dropout rates, the limited English proficiency, family poverty, and their unequal job opportunities, have caused increasing concerns from policy makers, school administrators and educators at all school levels. Various efforts to modify CLD students' social and academic disadvantages have been attempted through educational approaches, especially in the form of heritage language support in bilingual education programs initiated at the local school levels and funded by …

Purpose: The purpose of this course is to provide students the opportunity to experience ministry and to reflect upon that experience. Applying Suggestibility Research To The Real World: The Case Of Repeated Questions, Thomas D. Lyon

Law and Contemporary Problems

One can discern two parallel trends in the law and the psychology of child witnesses. In the law, appellate courts are beginning to stem the once powerful movement to increase the acceptance of children's testimony and the admissibility of children's out-of-court statements. Lyon analyzes particular strands of each trend.

Organic Beef A Production Guide, Steven Mccoy Jan 2002

Organic Beef A Production Guide, Steven Mccoy

Bulletins 4000 -

Premium markets are expanding worldwide for certified organic and biodynamic beef products – those grown in accordance with recognised organic production and processing standards.

Many agricultural areas in Australia have the potential to produce organic beef, and several Western Australian and Eastern States organic producers are already exporting to Japan. Supermarkets such as Coles and Woolworths have started to build the Australian domestic market.

Converting to an organic system can be easier - requiring fewer changes - in ‘low input’ rangeland cattle production than in more intensive pasture-based or feedlot production. But regardless of the type of enterprise, managing organic …

Cognitive And Somatic Item Response Pattern Of Orofacial Pain Patients Compared To Fibromyalgia Patients And A Non-Pain Control Group, Morten Hadsel
