Study Of Delamination In Acceleration Tested Pv Modules, Florida Solar Energy Center, Neelkanth Dhere
Study Of Delamination In Acceleration Tested Pv Modules, Florida Solar Energy Center, Neelkanth Dhere
FSEC Energy Research Center®
The average adhesional shear strength at silicon cell/EVA interface in damp-heat, acceleration-tested modules was ~27% of that measured in new modules. The average carbon concentration at the surface of samples extracted from acceleration tested modules was 15 atomic % or ~30% of that measured in new modules. Surface concentrations of sodium on Si-cell samples from the acceleration tested modules ranged from 4.9 to 22.0 atomic %while those of phosphorous ranged from 4.3 to 7.1 at. %. These are very high impurity concentrations. Often small concentrations of phosphorous were detected at the interface between titanium oxide antireflection coating and silicon cell. …

Recent genetic studies have suggested that many genes contribute to differences between closely related species that prevent gene exchange, particularly hybrid male sterility and female species preferences. We have examined the genetic basis of hybrid sterility and female species preferences in Drosophila pseudoobscura and Drosophila persimilis, two occasionally hybridizing North American species. Contrary to findings in other species groups, very few regions of the genome were associated with these characters, and these regions are associated also with fixed arrangement differences (inversions) between these species. From our results, we propose a preliminary genic model whereby inversions may contribute to the speciation …

Describes a method of producing active immunity against a viral disease in an animal subject. It comprises of administering a vaccine conjugate consisting essentially of a live virus and a neutralizing factor bound to the live virus to the subject. The neutralizing factor is selected from the group consisting of antibodies and antibody fragments. The live virus is one capable of producing disease in the subject, and the antibody or antibody fragment is one capable of neutralizing the live virus. Preferred subjects are birds, a preferred virus is Infectious Bursal Disease Virus, and a preferred route of administration to birds …

Diagnostic System And Method For Phonological Awareness, Phonological Processing, And Reading Skill Testing, Janet Marie Wasowicz,, Arthur C. Maerlender
Department of Psychology: Faculty Publications
A diagnostic system and method for evaluating one or more phonological awareness, phonological processing and reading skills of an individual to detect phonological awareness, phonological processing and reading skill deficiencies in the individual so that the risk of developing a reading deficiency is reduced and existing reading deficiencies are remediated. The system may use graphical games to test the individual’s ability in a plurality of different phonological awareness, phonological processing and reading skills. The system may use speech recognition technology to interact with the tests.

UCF Patents
Neodymium-doped yttrium calcium oxyborate (Nd:YCOB) is the single active gain element for a solid-state laser device capable of achieving both lasing and self-frequency doubling optical effects. A pumping source for optically pumping Nd:YCOB can generate a laser light output of approximately 400 mW at approximately 1060 nm wavelength and a self-frequency doubled output of approximately 60 mW at approximately 530 nm wavelength. Thus, a laser device can be designed that is compact, less expensive and a high-powered source of visible, green laser light.
