Nhep Management Plan 2000, New Hampshire Estuaries Project
Nhep Management Plan 2000, New Hampshire Estuaries Project
PREP Reports & Publications
This Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan of the New Hampshire Estuaries Project presents a broad framework and specific list of actions to protect and enhance the environmental quality of the estuaries of the State of New Hampshire. It is intended to be a guide for all who use, enjoy, or care about the state’s estuarine resources. The NHEP Management Plan addresses the environmental quality of the entire watershed draining to New Hampshire coastal waters, but focuses action efforts on the lands surrounding the Great Bay and Hampton-Seabrook Estuaries. Due to the national significance of their natural resources, the New Hampshire …

Mis Legitimacy And The Proposition Of A New Multi-Dimensional Model Of Mis, Gondy Leroy, Paul Benjamin Lowry, H. Wayne Anderson, Dennis C. Wilson, Lin Lin
CGU Faculty Publications and Research
This paper addresses the definition of MIS and the legitimacy of MIS as an academic discipline. Both sides of the MIS legitimacy debate are presented, with the authors embracing the diversity of MIS as a strength that enhances the legitimacy of the MIS discipline. Based on the diversity theory of MIS, the authors propose a new-multidimensional model of MIS that presents a new way of looking at the discipline and the researchers who work in it.

Pornography And The International Internet: Internet Content Regulation In Australia And The United States, Meghan A. Wharton
Pornography And The International Internet: Internet Content Regulation In Australia And The United States, Meghan A. Wharton
UC Law SF Communications and Entertainment Journal
In response to a vast concern about the widespread availability of pornographic materials on the Internet, the United States legislature passed the Communications Decency Act of 1996. Just prior to this legislation, the Australian government began investigating possible regulatory schemes for online content, culminating in the Broadcasting Services Amendment of 1999, which attempted to address the presence of pornographic material on the Internet. This article discusses, compares and analyzes the American and Australian systems of content regulation on the Internet and the effect that such legislation has had on content hosts.
Japanese Insider Trading Law At The Advent Of The Digital Age: New Challenges Raised By Internet And Communication Technology, Masanori Hayashi
Japanese Insider Trading Law At The Advent Of The Digital Age: New Challenges Raised By Internet And Communication Technology, Masanori Hayashi
UC Law SF Communications and Entertainment Journal
Although Japanese courts, specifically the Japanese Supreme Court in February of 1999, have taken recent steps to curtail insider trading in Japan, the spread of the Internet and new forms of communication technologies may make enforcement of insider trading regulations much more complex. Such activities have become increasingly difficult to detect, and for instance, there are many cases in the United States illustrating the possibility of abuse of the new technologies to promote securities crimes on the Internet. This Note explores the impact of new technologies on the insider trading problem in Japan. It presents the historical problems of insider …

Joint Fire Science Program Synthesis Reports
This state-of-knowledge review about the effects of fire on flora and fuels can assist land managers with ecosystem and fire management planning and in their efforts to inform others about the ecological role of fire. Chapter topics include fire regime classification, autecological effects of fire, fire regime characteristics and postfire plant community developments in ecosystems throughout the United States and Canada, global climate change, ecological principles of fire regimes, and practical considerations for managing fire in an ecosytem context.

Use Of The Generalized Integral Transform Method For Solving Equations Of Solute Transport In Porous Media, Chongxuan Liu, Jim E. Szecsody, John M. Zachara, William P. Ball
United States Department of Energy: Publications
The generalized integral transform technique (GITT) is applied to solve the one-dimensional advection-dispersion equation (ADE) in heterogeneous porous media coupled with either linear or nonlinear sorption and decay. When both sorption and decay are linear, analytical solutions are obtained using the GITT for one-dimensional ADEs with spatially and temporally variable flow and dispersion coefficient and arbitrary initial and boundary conditions. When either sorption or decay is nonlinear the solutions to ADEs with the GITT are hybrid analytical-numerical. In both linear and nonlinear cases, the forward and inverse integral transforms for the problems described in the paper are apparent and straightforward. …

MA TESOL Collection
This project describes a form of computer-assisted interactive classroom instruction, which is particularly useful in the ESL context. Not only does this project show how to integrate instruction with ever advancing technology, it also demonstrates how to integrate interactive class work with the diverse and relevant learning styles of each learner in the classroom. This project will show how easy it is to use this technology in conjunction with thematic units or projects-whatever the level of the ESL student. Enclosed are examples of instructional materials, created for the ESL High Beginner and examples of how they relate to the paper …

Dissertations and Theses
The paintings, sculpture and digital prints presented for this thesis explore language as a field where sense and non-sense coexist With my focus on the activity of deciphering, both literally and metaphorically, I have examined the play between word as image and image as word. What poetry lies embedded in the strange physicality of familiar graphic marks? What is the pleasure we find, as the poet Robert Pinsky suggests, in language only partly understood?
Following the lead of the Surrealists, who used the camera to investigate the paradoxical notion of reality as a sign, I amassed a collection of newspaper …
The Spring 1998 Northeastern Gulf Of Mexico (Negom) Cold Water Event: Remote Sensing Evidence For Upwelling And For Eastward Advection Of Mississippi Water (Or: How An Errant Loop Current Anticyclone Took The Negom For A Spin), Frank E. Muller-Karger
Gulf of Mexico Science
Temperatures of coastal waters along the Florida Panhandle in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico were 2-6 C lower in May-July 1998 than is normal for these waters at this time of the year. Surface temperatures were up to 7 C colder than air temperatures measured nearby off Alabama at National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) buoy 42007. Satellite data from the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer, Sea-viewing Wide-Field-of-View Sensor, the Ocean Topography Experiment, and European Remote-sensing Satellites altimeter sensors were combined with wind, air temperature, and water temperature data gathered at NDBC buoys to document the anomalous wind, temperature, and river …
