Parasitoids Of Medfly, Ceratitis Capitata, And Related Tephritids In Kenyan Coffee: A Predominantly Koinobiont Assemblage, R. A. Wharton, M. K. Trostle, R. H. Messing, R. S. Copeland, S. W. Kimani-Njogu, S. Lux, W. A. Overholt, S. Mohamed, J. Sivinski

Arabica coffee was sampled from two sites in the central highlands of Kenya (Rurima, Ruiru) and one site on the western side of the Rift Valley (Koru). Three species of ceratitidine Tephritidae, Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann), C. rosa Karsch and Trirhithrum coffeae Bezzi, were reared from sites in the central highlands, and an additional species, C. anonae Graham, was recovered from the western-most site. Ten species of parasitic Hymenoptera were reared from these tephritids. The parasitoid assemblage was dominated by koinobionts. Eight of the species are koinobiont endoparasitoids, but only one idiobiont larval ectoparasitoid was reared, and only one idiobiont pupal …

The purpose of this study was to investigate the value high school counselors assign to the fourteen national work competencies identified by the Secretary’s Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills (Author, 1991) and the National Career Development Guidelines (National Occupational Information Coordinating Committee, [NOICC] 1989) among different groups of students: at-risk, work-bound, and college bound. Rising national concern about economic competitiveness in the global marketplace has dictated the need to provide all students with the skills necessary to enter the workforce.

Medical advances in disease management has improved quality of life for women with cystic fibrosis (CF) and now enables them to consider pregnancy. The purpose of the study was to examine women's perceptions of how the demands of having CF influenced their ability to care for their children and continue to meet their own health needs. The study design was grounded theory methodology with a complementarity research technique to incorporate qualitative and quantitative data collection. This thesis is an examination of human agency within the process of social change as it has been displayed by the members of a traditional society. It is based on participant observation data that was collected between 1995-97 when the author served as a Peace Corps Volunteer living amongst a tribe of maroons, known as Saramakans, deep in the rainforest of South America. Exploring the assumption that changes in traditional societies have been forced upon them, this thesis examines the transformations that have occurred in the religious structure of the Saramakan tribe. The objective of this article is to develop an appropriate analytical basis for evaluating the illegal activity exclusion in the context of automobile comprehensive coverage. Because the illegal activity exclusion has not been the subject of any reported decision in the context of comprehensive coverage, this article attempts to achieve its goal by examining intentional injury and prohibitive use exclusions in the context of automobile liability and collision coverages, respectively. The Christian Librarian

While a number of Christian librarians have explored the implications of the Christian world view for particular issues in library practice, few have attempted to develop a thoroughgoing philosophy of Christian librarians/zip. Those who have done so have generally failed to center their proposals around the Christian view of truth. The knowability, objectivity, unity, practicality, and spirituality of truth should impact the way librarians at Christian colleges carry out major library functions, including collection development, reference services, bibliographic instruction, research and publication, and management.

Turn the clock back for a moment to August 1973. In the midst of the burgeoning Watergate scandal, the nation discovered that Vice President Spiro T. Agnew was being investigated for allegedly accepting bribes from contractors, and for committing tax fraud while Governor of Maryland and Vice President. The investigation, by attorneys in the United States Attorneys Office in Maryland, ultimately gathered sufficient evidence to present to a grand jury. To avoid the spectre of likely indictment and prosecution, Agnew elected to resign his office and plead nolo contendere.[1]
