The Virtual Sociality Of Rights: The Case Of "Women's Rights Are Human Rights", Annelise Riles

Public Law and Legal Theory Papers

This essay traces the relationship between activists and academics involved in the campaign for "women's rights as human rights" as a case study of the relationship between different classes of what I call "knowledge professionals" self-consciously acting in a transnational domain. The puzzle that animates this essay is the following: how was it that at the very moment at which a critique of "rights" and a reimagination of rights as "rights talk" proved to be such fertile ground for academic scholarship did the same "rights" prove to be an equally fertile ground for activist networking and lobbying activities? A Type Catalog Of Fossil Invertebrates (Cnidaria: Anthozoa) In The Yale Peabody Museum, Russell D. White, Natalie C. Mitescu, Laura K. Skorina

Type material for 182 nominal species of fossil anthozoans is in the Invertebrate Paleontology Collections of Yale University's Peabody Museum of Natural History. Primary types for 77 nominal species include 64 holotypes, 74 syntypes (representing 11 nominal species), 1 lectotype and 2 neotypes. Secondary types for 39 nominal species include 124 paratypes (representing 38 nominal species) and 16 paralectotypes (representing 1 nominal species). Tertiary types of 114 nominal species include 488 hypotypes. Most types are from New York State, Ohio, Québec and Tennessee and have been described by T.W. Amsden, C.E. Beecher, E.J. Buehler, C.O. Dunbar, G.H. Girty, E.G. Stumm …

A Type Catalog Of Fossil Invertebrates (Bryozoa) In The Yale Peabody Museum, Russell D. White, Laura K. Skorina

Type material for 102 nominal species of fossil bryozoans is in the Invertebrate Paleontology Collections of Yale University's Peabody Museum of Natural History. Primary types for 30 nominal species include 30 holotypes. Secondary types for 17 nominal species include 190 paratypes (representing 17 nominal species). Tertiary types for 82 nominal species include 294 hypotypes. Most types are from New York State, Quebec and Vermont and have been described by E.R. Cumings, C.O. Dunbar, J.P. Ross and W.H. Twenhofel.
