The Lingnan University Ordinance was enacted on 30 July 1999, conferring university title to Lingnan, thus opening a glorious chapter in the development of Lingnan education. On 2 November 1999, the University held its 29th Congregation, conferring its honorary, master’s and bachelor’s degrees. Special report was published in South China Morning Post in celebration of the University’s designation and its 29th Congregation.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming And Writing: A New Era Of Communication-Part Ii, K.K. Duvivier

Neuro-linguistic programming describes a method of understanding how people subjectively process information through different preferred modes or representational systems.' Generally, neuro-linguistic programming classifies perceptions into three broad categories: (1) visual, (2) auditory, and (3) kinesthetic. The September Scrivener column addressed two precepts of neuro-linguistic programming in the context of legal writing. This article addresses two more.

The past decade has given rise to the amusement of creating politically-correct definitions. Merriam-Webster researchers have found the term "politically correct" in H.V. Morton's book In The Steps of Saint Paul, (1936). It was reported that the term was used in a 1793 US Supreme Court decision.

Martin Gardner's fictional Doctor Matrix used to say that, property interpreted, the number pi (the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, whose decimal expansion begins 3.14159265897932384626...) contains the entire history of mankind. In this article I give some results of looking at pi in a relatively new way: as an infinite string of letters derived from its expansion in base 26 or base 27.
