Galathea intermedia is common, but cryptic, on Clyde maerl deposits where it lives in small groups of mixed sex and age, sharing shelters (typically dead Dosinia shells) to avoid predation. Its appearance is marked by six iridescent blue spots which may play an important role in intra- or interspecific interactions.

Brand Success Evaluation In Selected Personal Care Products, Y L R Moorthi
Working Papers
Academics as well as practitioners offer opinions about brand success. For instance it is felt that Lifebuoy is a success while Crowning Glory is a failure. It is easy to identify success and failure in the above cases because Lifebuoy sells more than a lakh tons while Crowning Glory is not stocked in retail outlets. However there are instances where it is not easy to form a view on success or failure. Some brands continue with a minimal share in the market. Others do not build volume initially but grow to considerable size later. Some remain small but profitable niche …

Breaking The Rules: A Rebuttal Of Normal-Tension Glaucoma, David Brey
Breaking The Rules: A Rebuttal Of Normal-Tension Glaucoma, David Brey
Mahurin Honors College Capstone Experience/Thesis Projects
Glaucoma is a disease of the eyes generally characterized by high intraocular pressure, optic nerve death, and visual loss. Open-angle glaucoma and angle-closure glaucoma are the two main forms of the disease However, there is one form of open angle glaucoma that cannot be described by the above abnormalities. This form is known as normal-tension glaucoma, and while it is characterized by optic nerve death and visual loss, it does not display an abnormally high intraocular pressure. Indeed, as this thesis argues, normal-tension glaucoma should not be labeled as a glaucoma disease at all.

How To Ensure Greater Success In Implementing Organisational Improvement And Restructuring Programmes, C Manohar Reddy

Indian economy has gone through a process of gradual de-regulation in the eighties and this process has accelerated further in nineties. Globalisation and liberalisation have become the catch words of the nineties. Regulation and protectionism of the licence-permit raj had debelitated the competitive capability of many Indian organisations. Since whatever produced could be sold easily, technological upgradation, quality improvement and customer service suffered. As costs could be passed on to the customer without any problem, there was no emphasis on cost consciousness or efficiency. All these handicaps didn't matter in an era of regulation and protectionism.

Perceptual-Mnemonic Functions Of The Perirhinal Cortex., Murray, Bussey
Perceptual-Mnemonic Functions Of The Perirhinal Cortex., Murray, Bussey
Brain and Mind Institute Researchers' Publications
It is widely acknowledged that the perirhinal cortex, located in the ventromedial aspect of the temporal lobe, is essential for certain types of memory in macaque monkeys. For example, removal of the perirhinal cortex yields severe impairments on tests of stimulus recognition and stimulus-stimulus association. There is considerable disagreement, however, about the most accurate way to characterize the function of the perirhinal cortex; some views emphasize a role in perception whereas others posit a role exclusively in declarative memory. In this article, we review recent findings from anatomical, physiological and ablation studies in monkeys, and discuss related findings obtained in …

From Housing To Homes: A Review Of The Literature On Housing Approaches For Psychiatric Consumers/Survivors, Shannon Parkinson, Geoffrey Nelson, Salinda Horgan
From Housing To Homes: A Review Of The Literature On Housing Approaches For Psychiatric Consumers/Survivors, Shannon Parkinson, Geoffrey Nelson, Salinda Horgan
Psychology Faculty Publications
In this paper, we review the literature on housing for psychiatric consumer/survivors since the publication of the Nelson and Smith Fowler (1987) review more than a decade ago. First, we review research and propose a definition to contrast key features of three approaches to housing: (a) custodial, (b) supportive, and (c) supported. Second, we examine studies of the relationships between the characteristics of housing and adaptational outcomes for residents (e.g., personal empowerment). Third, we review studies which have examined out-comes for residents for these three different housing approaches. We conclude by critically reflecting on the values and research of the …
