Leading Without Bleeding: An Information Technology Case Study At Union Pacific Railroad, Uma G. Gupta, Randy W. Butler, Thomas D. Milner
Journal of Transportation Management
In the railroad industry, the ability to assess damages to rail units in an accurate and timely manner is critical to the success and profits of a company. Accurate damage assessment of rail units also plays a key role in dispute resolution and negotiation with key vendors and suppliers (my.uprr.com/pub/dam-prev). This paper describes and presents information about Union Pacific Railroads (UPRR) and Science Applications International Corporations (SAIC) highly successful efforts in fully automating the data collection, inspection, assessment and reporting of damage claims to rail equipment. Distinctive Components And Perceived Sources Of Gain In Christian Counseling, Rodger K. Bufford, Barbara M. Houston, W Brad Johnson
Faculty Publications - Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) Program
This article describes the results of two survey studies designed to assess Christian practitioners’ perspectives regarding both the distinctive components and undergirding sources of gain in Christian counseling. Both studies utilized mem- bers of the Christian Association for Psychological Studies (CAPS). Study 1 employed a convenience sample of 17 CAPS members, while Study 2 obtained a sample of 161 CAPS psychologists. Results of the studies were congruent and offered support for a multi-dimensional model of Christian counseling. Respon- dents were most likely to endorse God’s active involvement in counseling and the counselor’s faith as the most distinctive components of Christian …

Curriculum And Careers: The Education And Labour Market Consequences Of Year 12 Subject Choice, Stephen Lamb, Katrina Ball
LSAY Research Reports
This report examines patterns of course enrolments in Year 12 and the consequences of students course enrolments on their education, training and work experiences to age 19. In particular, it looks at what happens to young people enrolled in different senior school subjects as they move from school to post-school education and training and to work. The analysis is based on data collected between 1990 and 1997 as part of the Australian Youth Survey (AYS), a national longitudinal survey of young people. Course enrolments were derived from information on the subjects students studied in Year 12. Course enrolments comprised the …
