Initiatives

SPOUSAL INFIDELITY. CIVIL LIABILITY. INITIATIVE STATUTE. Imposes civil liability for infidelity. Defines "infidelity" as voluntary sexual intercourse or oral sex between one spouse and a third person without other spouse's knowledge and consent. Defines "spouse" as husband, wife, or person cohabiting with member of opposite sex presenting themselves as married. Innocent spouse's remedies include damages for alienation of affections, lost wages and expenses due to emotional distress, abandonment, humiliation. Innocent spouse is eligible for divorce resulting in a 65% community property share, award of benefits, child custody and support. Couples may choose other remedies including an apology and counseling. Summary …

Valuation Of Tree Aesthetics On Small Urban-Interface Properties, Richard Thompson, Richard Hanna, Jay Noel, Douglas D. Piirto

Natural Resources Management and Environmental Sciences

A model was developed to predict the value contribution of forest condition on small urban-wildland interface properties. Sample data were collected on property transactions in the Lake Tahoe Basin of California between 1990 and 1994. A variant of the stand density index (SDI) and a tree health measure were added to a list of traditional property characteristics (i.e., location, house size, lot size) to express the influence of tree care on property value. These aesthetic characteristics were statistically significant despite the expected dominant influence of the traditional characteristics. The Frat was the official member publication of the National Fraternal Society of the Deaf (NFSD). First established in 1902, the publication ran for just over a century, until its closure in 2006.---NFSD was an insurance business established in 1901. Its purposes were to provide insurance to mainly Deaf members, to serve as an advocate for the Deaf, and to provide community service and recreational opportunities through divisional activities.
