High Speed Monitoring And Control System Uses Windows-Nt, Albert E. Ketler
U.S. Mine Ventilation Symposium
Millennia-DX™ is an advanced monitoring and control system especially designed for underground mining. An inexpensive 233+ Pentium computer running Windows-95 or -NT provides vast processing power that was unheard of just a decade ago. Engineered in-house from the ground up, Rel-Tek's new 32-bit Millennia-Dx™ software code now permits 10-mile data acquisition at an accelerated 115.2 KHz. New techniques and hardware have resulted in a totally integrated hardware/software package with uncompromising performance, features and reliability. A large coal mine installation is highlighted which installed a Millennia-DX system for monitoring carbon monoxide, but soon discovered the "data mining" capabilities which they enlisted …

A Two Dimensional Crystalline Atomic Unit Modular Self-Reconfigurable Robot, Marsette Arthur Vona Iii
A Two Dimensional Crystalline Atomic Unit Modular Self-Reconfigurable Robot, Marsette Arthur Vona Iii
Dartmouth College Undergraduate Theses
Self-reconfigurable robots are designed so that they can change their external shape without human intervention. One general way to achieve such functionality is to build a robot composed of multiple, identical unit modules. If the modules are designed so that they can be assembled into rigid structures, and so that individual units within such structures can be relocated within and about the structure, then self-reconfiguration is possible. We propose the Crystalline Atomic unit modular self-reconfigurable robot, where each unit is called an Atom. In two dimensions, an Atom is square. Connectors at the faces of each Atom support structure formation …
Observing Attachment Disorder In Adults, Aileen G. Ockwig
Observing Attachment Disorder In Adults, Aileen G. Ockwig
Theses and Graduate Projects
Mental health professionals who work with adults typically encounter clients who have issues left over from childhood. This paper discusses the Attachment Theory first conceptualized by John Bowlby and the therapeutic implications with adults concerning attachment theory based on psychoanalytic-object relations theory. Understanding and emphasizing the importance of affectional bonds with caring others is an essential part of treating adult clients with attachment issues. The purpose of this study is to define the nature of the therapeutic relationship between client and clinician to identify therapeutic strategies that create a safe place for adult clients to explore issues of attachment, separation …

Freshly deposited third instar Glossina morsitans centralis larvae were infected with the tsetse DNA virus by microinjection, and at emergence adult males were separated from the females and fed on rabbit blood every second day for 8 days. A control group treated with sterile saline were handled similarly. They were dissected, and comparative observations made on the appearance and size of the accessory reproductive glands (ARG) in infected and control males. Regularly fed 8-day-old males from infected and control groups were mated to 2-day-old normal females obtained from the insectay. After separation from copula, the females were dissected and the …
