Academic Effects Of Service-Learning, Elizabeth B. Gardner, Corinne M. Baron
Higher Education
Service-learning is growing in popularity. Ziolkowski (1996) pointed out that if service-learning is to become a lasting component in American education, it must have a clear link to "the academy" (in addition to the development of moral and civic values and the benefit to the community). The Influence Of Open And Closed Attitudes On The Reception Of Scientific Evidence Of Genetic Predisposition To Homosexuality, Stephen Jeffers
Theses Digitization Project
The study examined attitudes toward homosexuals from a neo-functional perspective, including a proposal that these attitudes are primarily 'open' and informationally based, or primarily 'closed' and affectively based. Scientific evidence of a genetic predisposition to homosexuality should be differentially received, based on the attitudes of the recipients of the information.
