Chlorophyll is the light harvesting molecule for many photosynthetic organisms. As a result, chlorophyll is an extremely important molecule, directly or indirectly, to nearly all life. The production of chlorophyll involves a long and complex pathway. The conversion of protochlorophyllide to chlorophyllide is one of the final steps in chlorophyll biosynthesis. Some of the factors affecting the regulation of this process were the focus of this project.

Marital Status Discrimination In Washington: Relevance Of The Identity And Actions Of An Employee's Spouse, Katrina R. Kelly Jan 1998

Marital Status Discrimination In Washington: Relevance Of The Identity And Actions Of An Employee's Spouse, Katrina R. Kelly

Washington Law Review

Before 1993, Washington's employment anti-discrimination statute did not define the term "marital status," and courts interpreted the term broadly to include discrimination based upon the actions or identity of an employee's spouse. A 1993 amendment to the Law Against Discrimination added a definition of marital status. Benton Franklin TitlCeo . argued that the change in the statute should narrow the interpretation of marital status to exclude the identity and actions of an employee's spouse. This Comment argues that the scope …

Needs And Risks Facing The Indonesian Youth Population, Desti Murdijana

Reproductive Health

Youth are the leaders of tomorrow, but right now they face a formidable collection of problems that will determine the quality of their future lives and the lives of us all. Education, jobs, substance abuse, violence, sexuality, and marriage are examples of adolescent issues that demand special attention from researchers, youth activists and advocates, parents, and policymakers. In attempting to address these complex issues, we must be willing to confront ignorance, controversy, and cultural obstacles. Clear and focused policy and strategies must play a basic role in tackling these issues facing Indonesian adolescents. This paper provides a concise situation analysis …
