This thesis focuses on the creation of an online module for a new course offered by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), titled Twentieth Century Information Design. As an information design product, the module's intent is to enhance a student's perspective on the evaluation of information design through the presentation of a range of theories and their relationship to the processes of graphic design. Evidence For Quantitative Trait Loci Affecting Ovulation Rate In Pigs, Thomas A. Rathje, G. A. Rohrer, R. K. Johnson
Department of Animal Science: Faculty Publications
Fifty-five microsatellite markers were scored in an F2 population of pigs (n = 114 females) developed at the University of Nebraska. The population was produced by crossing a line previously selected for 10 generations using an index of ovulation rate and embryonal survival and a line selected at random. The lines were from a common base population and differed by 6.7 ovulations and 3.1 fetuses at 50 d of gestation. Ovulation rate and number of fully formed and mummified pigs were recorded for each female. Data were analyzed with regression models that included random animal effects. Likelihood-ratio tests were …

Theses
The goal of this graduate thesis was to create 26 small felt sculptures of animals, creatures, and characters. These characters were designed to work together as one large twenty-six unit piece of work or in single units or small gcoups as smaller pieces of work. The entire group works together because the name of each animal or character begins with a different letter of the alphabet. It was a goal to make the animals and characters appealing and amusing. Bright colors were used as were simple facial features so they would appear friendly. Familiar shapes and animals were chosen to …

"Whose Home Is the Range, Anyway?: The latest research is confirming that in the West's fragile public lands, cattle are often bad news for wildlife." This is the title and headline of Lisa Drew's article in the December/January 1994 issue of National Wildlife. It shows a picture of what looks like a wasteland with only cattle, manure and a fence, no vegetation (Drew, 1994). Inside the article, Drew quotes biologist Bob Ohmart at Arizona State University's Center for Environmental Studies as saying, "Livestock grazing is without a doubt the greatest threat to western wildlife" (p. 15). Drew contends that, "The …
