Geometrical Folding Transitions Of The Triangular Lattice In The Face-Centred Cubic Lattice, Mark Bowick, Oliver Golinelli, Emmanuel Guitter, S. Mori

We study the folding of the regular two-dimensional triangular lattice embedded in the regular three-dimensional Face-Centred Cubic lattice, a discrete model for the crumpling of membranes. Possible folds are complete planar folds, folds with the angle of a regular tetrahedron (71 degrees) or with that of a regular octahedron (109 degrees). We study this model in the presence of a negative bending rigidity K, which favours the folding process. We use both a cluster variation method (CVM) approximation and a transfer matrix approach. The system is shown to undergo two separate geometrical transitions with increasing |K|: a first discontinuous transition …

A Type Catalog Of Fossil Invertebrates (Arthropoda: Chelicerata) In The Yale Peabody Museum, Russell D. White

Type material for 60 nominal species of fossil chelicerates are in the Invertebrate Paleontology Collections of Yale University's Peabody Museum of Natural History. Primary types for 46 nominal species include 41 holotypes, and 5 syntypes (representing 3 nominal species). Secondary types for 15 nominal species include 31 paratypes. Tertiary types of 19 nominal species include 35 hypotypes. Most types are from Mazon Creek (Illinois), Warren (Pennsylvania), Elmo (Kansas) and Buffalo (New York) and have been described by C.E. Beecher, James Hall, E.N. Kjellesvig-Waering and Alexander Petrunkevitch.

Secondary types for 17 nominal species include 29 paratypes and 3 paralectotypes. Tertiary types of 47 nominal species include 200 hypotypes. Most types are from Mazon Creek (Illinois) and New York State, and have been described by C.E. Beecher, J.M. Berdan, H.K. Brooks, James Hall, M.J. Rathbun, H.B. Roberts, P.E. Raymond, C.E. Resser and E.O. Ulrich.

Type material for 144 nominal species of fossil graptolites are in the Invertebrate Paleontology Collections of Yale University's Peabody Museum of Natural History. Primary types for 20 nominal species include 18 holotypes, and 11 syntypes (representing two nominal species). Secondary types for 3 nominal species include 3 paratypes. Tertiary types of 127 nominal species include 263 hypotypes. Most types are from Marathon (Texas) and New York State and have been described by W.B.N. Berry, O.M.B. Bulman and Rudolf Ruedemann.
