On behalf of the Maryland Governor's Commission on Service, I am pleased to present the second edition of the Maryland Service Exchange Directory. At the same time, the Exchange offers a new, innovative opportunity through which Marylanders can volunteer to serve our communities.

Doctrinal Classification And Economic Negligence, Jay M. Feinman
Doctrinal Classification And Economic Negligence, Jay M. Feinman
San Diego Law Review
This Article discusses the nature of doctrinal classifications and some of the problems rising in third-party cases due to the distinction between tort and contract. These cases can best be understood by recognizing an emerging field of law known as economic negligence. Economic negligence concerns the liability of a contracting party to a third person for negligent performance of a contract. The Author concludes by explaining how the recognition of this field of law addresses the problems that arise from the traditional classification.
Vittitow V. City Of Upper Arlington: As Mixed Questions Of Law And Fact, Should Ordinances And Injunctions Be Reviewed Under The Madsen And Frisby Standards Of Review By Using A De Novo Standard Or A "Clearly Erroneous" Standard?, Roger Higgins
San Diego Law Review
This Comment concerns the appropriate standard of review for appellate courts in anti-abortion picketing cases. In Vittitow v. City of Upper Arlington, the Sixth Circuit used a de novo scope of review and applied the intermediate standard of review, developed for content-neutral limits to manners of protests. The Author argues that appellate courts should narrow their scope of review and could do so without risking any chilling effects on the First Amendment. Use of the “clearly erroneous” standard would speed up the enforcement of injunctions, make enforcement more certain and more equitable to all parties, and help ameliorate a climate …

Arizona Distribution Of Three Sonoran Desert Anurans: Bufo Retiformis, Gastrophryne Olivacea, And Pternohyla Fodiens, Brian K. Sullivan, Robert W. Bowker, Keith B. Malmos, Erik W. A. Gergus
Great Basin Naturalist
We surveyed historic collecting localities in south central Arizona during July, August, and September 1993–94 to determine the presence of 3 little-known Sonoran Desert anurans, Bufo retiformis, Gastrophryne olivacea, and Pternohyla fodiens. All 3 species were present at most historic localities visited under appropriate conditions (following rainfall in July and August). Pternohyla fodiens was restricted to San Simon Wash and associated tributaries in south central Pima County. Gastrophryne olivacea ranged from Vekol Valley in extreme southern Maricopa County south to the Mexican border, and southeast near Tucson and Nogales in Pima and Santa Cruz counties. Bufo retiformis occurred over …
