Memories Of Marguerite Yourcenar, Mary H. Marshall
Memories Of Marguerite Yourcenar, Mary H. Marshall
The Courier
This paper is an amplification of Professor Marshall's introductory remarks to her lecture "Marguerite Yourcenar: Her Mythical and Historical Imagination", which was given to the Syracuse University Library Associates on 20 February 1990. At the end the reader will find responses to additional specific interview questions, as well as transcribed selections from a few Yourcenar-Marshall letters. Because of her friendship with Professor Marshall, Marguerite Yourcenar gave to the Syracuse University Library several early inscribed editions of her works.

The Most Fundamental Change In The Criminal Justice System: The Role Of The Prosecutor In Sentence Reduction, Bennett L. Gershman
The Most Fundamental Change In The Criminal Justice System: The Role Of The Prosecutor In Sentence Reduction, Bennett L. Gershman
Elisabeth Haub School of Law Faculty Publications
As every lawyer knows, the prosecutor is the most powerful figure in the American criminal justice system. The prosecutor decides whom to charge, what charges to bring, whether to permit a defendant to plead guilty, and whether to confer immunity. In carrying out this broad decision-making power, the prosecutor enjoys considerable independence. Indeed, one of the most elusive and vexing subjects in criminal justice has been to define the limits of the prosecutor’s discretion.

Assessing Faculty Shortages In Comprehensive Colleges And Universities, Zelda F. Gamson, Dorothy E. Finnegan, Ted I.K. Youn
New England Resource Center for Higher Education Publications
In the last two years, the national media and higher education publications have begun warning of faculty shortages. In the fall of 1989 Edward Fiske and Elizabeth Fowler wrote in the New York Times that colleges and universities would be facing major faculty shortages in the humanities and social sciences (Fiske 1989; Fowler 1989). A few months earlier, Joseph Berger (1989) warned in the New York Times that the "Slowing Pace to Doctorates Spurs Worry on Filling Jobs." The Chronicle of Higher Education has been running a series of articles on various aspects of the faculty labor market --concerning the …

Miscellaneous Publication 36/90 - Western Australian Beef Industry - Background, Alan Peggs
Animal production and livestock published reports
The Western Australian beef industry is poised to expand production in response to improved export opportunities in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
There are a number of beef processors and exporters with substantial experience in exporting beef to international markets. These companies can supply a wide range of beef products.
Most beef produced in Western Australia is grass-fed. However, grain-finished beef is produced at certain times of the year.
The beef industry has been in a period of contraction since the "beef price crash" of the mid 1970s. As a result it has come to focus more on domestic market …

Gumbo Yearbook
In words and especially photos, the Gumbo shows the people, places, and events that make each year unique. In addition to formal portraits of schools and departments, the book contains hundreds of snapshots of students with their friends and dozens of pages showcasing organizations. Gumbo Magazine, which chronicled the 1992-93 and 1993-94 school years, was primarily published when revenues were insufficient for a hardbound book.

An Examination And Evaluation Of The Jesus Of The New Age, Kenneth Kun-No Pak
An Examination And Evaluation Of The Jesus Of The New Age, Kenneth Kun-No Pak
Masters Theses
This thesis examines and evaluates the predominant view
of Jesus "the Christ" among the prominent New Agers. This
view--that Jesus was only a man who acquired mystic knowledge
and power from his experiences with the Essenes and other
mystical religions of the East, and that he manifested and
exemplified the divinity which can be found in each person-generally
opposes orthodox Christian teachings of the
monotheistic divinity of Jesus Christ.
The thesis argues that various claims of these New Agers
are inconsistent (e.g. the reliability of Akashic Record),
unverifiable (e.g. esoterism), and contrary to factual data
(e.g. Notovitch's account of Jesus' …

Department of Occupational Therapy Faculty Papers
This paper offers a method by which to train students in the provision of culturally relevant, in-home environmental adaptations for persons with chronic disabilities. On the basis of a theoretical framework, the student therapist learns about the client's life-style and offers adaptations that evolve from a collaborative problem-solving process. The training process has been developed and refined over a 3-year period. A case study illustrates the student's application of theory and practice and the outcome for the client of this service provision approach.

Nebraska Beef Cattle Reports
A two-year study tested the hypothesis that growth rate interacts with bull exposure to influence age at puberty in heifers. Heifers exposed to sterile bulls and fed to achieve a high growth rate (1.8 lb/day) attained puberty 73 days earlier than heifers not exposed to bulls and fed to a moderate growth rate (1.3 lb/day). Heifers exposed to bulls and fed to achieve a moderate growth rate attained puberty at ages similar to heifers not exposed to bulls and fed to a high growth rate. Furthermore. heifers receiving these two treatments attained puberty 23 days earlier than heifers not exposed …
