Single Transfer-Excitation Resonance Observed Via The Two-Photon Decay In He-Like Ge³⁰⁺, Paul H. Mokler, S. Reusch, A. Warczak, Zbigniew Stachura, T. Kambara, Alfred K. Muller, Reinhold S. Schuch, Michael Schulz

We measured the 2E1 decay of the 1s2s ¹S₀ →1s^{2 1}S₀ transition in He-like germanium for 12- to 19-MeV/u Ge³¹⁺ +H₂ collisions. The resonant population of the 2s2p ¹P₁ state by transfer excitation was isolated due to its cascading to the 1s2s ¹S₀ state. The experimental cross sections compare well with calculations using dielectronic recombination rates. The method gives the unique possibility to populate selectively the ¹S₀ state in heavy He-like ions.

The effect of regularly scheduled class meetings on the self concept and academic performance of emotionally disturbed adolescent males was investigated. Twelve boys, ranging in age from twelve to fifteen participated in the study. The Tennessee Self Concept Scale was administered to the subjects in the control group (n=6) and the experimental group (n=6) at the beginning and again at the end of a six month treatment period. The usage of disposable needle electrodes is a safe way to prevent severe infectious diseases, especially AIDS, in EMG laboratories. The purposes of this study were (1) to compare disposable with reusable monopolar needle electrodes physiologically by recording motor unit action potentials (MUAPs), and (2) to determine the stability of the disposable monopolar needle electrodes (DMNE).Computer-aided measurements were used to compare 60 MUAPs recorded with reusable monopo;ar needle electrodes (RMNE) and 60 MUAPs recorded from the same muscle (Tibialis anterior) with DMNE at the first (new), second (used). and sith(old) electrode usage. The purpose of this study was to use the KINEMETIC COMMUNICATOR KIN-COM III (a computer controlled dynamometer) in the isometric mode to estabilish flexion and extension guidelines for a trunk rehabilitation exercise program.Trunk activity was assessed in 33 young normal adults without LBP history. L5 was taken as the trunk flexion / extension center and the semi-sitting erect position was used to eliminate the gravity effect. We found that the trunk flexion and extension torques were positively related to the height and weight. The Extenision: Flexion ratio was approximately 2:l(mean 2.051 + 0.315). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the muscular strength of five patients which were received shoulder hemiarthroplasty. Isokinetic test used by Lido Isokinetic Rehabilitation System included shoulder external rotation, internal rotation, abduction, adduction, flexion and extension at the speed of 60, 120, 180 and 240 degree/sec. There was significant difference (p＜0.05) between involved and non-involved shoulder on the peak torque in external rotation, internal rotation, abduction and flexion. Ther peak torque to body weight ratio also showed significant difference (p＜0.05) in internal rotation, abduction and flexiom. Thirty one patients including eleven young atheletics(thirth four knees totally) were assesed by MRI(1.0T,Picker company)in different pulse sequences T1WI, T2WI & PDWI. The result showed high incidence of combined injuries, especially for meniscal injury coexisted with cruciate injury. There were 52.9% of knees with cruciate injuries in Gr. III meniscal injury, while in Gr. II & III was upto 73.5% in incidency. The injuried pattern of young athletics group (less than 26 years old) was the same as old age group.
