While rarely a month goes by that the topic of AIDS escapes discussion in the legal literature, a survey of legal publications reveals that the implications of AIDS for women has received scant treatment by legal commentators. Unfortunately, this neglect is not unique to the legal community, but reflects a larger societal disinterest in women with AIDS.

This study was designed to describe the nature and extent of health promotion programs in Bremer and Black Hawk Counties, Iowa. A questionnaire was designed and mailed to 74 organizations and agencies in these two counties. The study was delimited to an employee population of 100 and above. Results of the study were based on responses received from 62 (88.6%) of these organizations and agencies. Descriptive statistics were used in analyzing the data, Subjects were asked whether or not their organization currently offered a full or partial health promotion program for employees. Uncertainty Reasoning And Representation: A Comparison Of Several Alternative Approaches, Barbara S. Smith

Much of the research done in Artificial Intelligence involves investigating and developing methods of incorporating uncertainty reasoning and representation into expert systems. Several methods have been proposed and attempted for handling uncertainty in problem solving situations. The theories range from numerical approaches based on strict probabilistic reasoning to non-numeric approaches based on logical reasoning. This study investigates a number of these approaches including Bayesian Probability, Mycin Certainty Factors, Dempster-Shafer Theory of Evidence, Fuzzy Set Theory, Possibility Theory and non monotonic logic.
