A Study Of The Pearsonian Type V Curve, Claude Harold Brown

It is characteristic of most frequency curves that they start from zero, rise to a maximum and then decrease to zero again. The curve representing these distributions will be either symmetrical or non-symmetrical. Symmetrical distributions are commonly represented by normal frequency curve. The characteristics and properties of this curve are well known.

Non-symmetrical distributions can often be represented by Pearson's Type III or Type V Curves. The Type III Curve is better known and more commonly used. However there are some distributions better represented by the Type V Curve.

The chief variation is to be found at the lower end …

The Status Of Psychology In Secondary Schools Of Kansas, Roy Scott Douglass

Electronic Theses & Dissertations

The writer has been teaching psychology in a small high school in Kansas. He found that the students who were taking psychology seemed to take but little interest in the subject. He became interested in knowing if this condition were true in other secondary schools in Kansas. The author was unable, after a thorough investigation, to find any account of a previous research of this nature. Out of the desire to know what was being done by the other psychology teachers this study-The Status of Psychology in Secondary Schools in Kansas-evolved.

A History Of Radical Political Movements In Kansas, O. D. Mcclellan

Electronic Theses & Dissertations

Perhaps no state has had, in such a short period of its history, a more colorful series of radical political movements and personalities than Kansas. A number of writers, each taking a single movement, have written in this field. This writer has attempted, as his contribution, to bring these movements up to date, therefore, this is a survey of the major radical movements in Kansas and especially of that movement which brought into political prominence Dr. John R. Brinkley. What were the causes and results of these movements? Were they brought about by agitators or was agitation a result of …

An Analysis Of The Mythological Allusions In The Literature And Life Series, Claire Nelson Starr

Electronic Theses & Dissertations

This study has been prepared to determine the extent and character or the mythology in the content or the Literature and Life Series, which has been adopted for use in the high schools of Kansas. Much of our best English poetry lies beyond the reach of many readers because of their unfamiliarity with the commonplaces of …

Investigations Of Clothing Practices In A Selected Group Of Negro Homes In Kansas City, Kansas, Cecil Demae Nicholson

Electronic Theses & Dissertations

Excerpt: "Clothing practices have changed considerably during recent years. Under the low labor costs of late years ready-to-wear manufacturers have offered values in ready-to-wear garments which have caused a decrease in home sewing. Notwithstanding this fact pupils in the junior and senior high schools spend much time on the construction of clothing in this ready-to-wear age. Therefore, the home economics teacher is confronted with the question of the place the construction of clothing should have in the school curriculum and of the choice of the related units that should form a part of the curriculum. It seemed a solution of …
