John Galsworthy said of his novels that they were "a criticism of life." This definition is generally recognized and has been accepted by critics as an approach to the study of his works. This thesis proposes an examination of one specific method by which Galsworthy criticized the life of his times: the grouping of characters of his novels into types representative of the society he knew.

An Investigation In The Nutrition Of Negro Infants In Tallahasee, Florida, Lola L. Cunningham

A review of related literature gave no evidence of investigations of feeding practices among Negro infants. The writer thought it would be interesting to study this group to determine when and what additions were made to breast feedings and to determine the adequacy of the diet as judged by standards of nutrition and by the reaction of the children. Thirty-six infants between the ages of six and eighteen months were studied in Tallahassee, Florida. It was found that the time of beginning additions to the breast feedings varied from the fifth month of age through the ninth month. Additions consisted …

The recent discovery that even very small concentrations of fluorides in drinking waters are sufficient to cause the serious dental dystrophy commonly known as mottled enamel, has around widespread interest and concern. Federal and State surveys have been conducted to determine the geographical distribution of the malady, and the fluoride contents of water supplies.

County dental surveys, conducted by the United States Public Health Department with the cooperation of local dentists, have located the regions throughout the country where mottled enamel is endemic and among these localities is an area in southeastern North Dakota and adjacent territory in South Dakota …

Because of the nutritious value of sodium glutamate and its meat-like flavor, which is very pleasing to most people, and hence its demand if it were properly promoted, and because of the abundance of protein in accessible form for its manufacture, it is only reasonable to assume that if the optimum conditions of protein hydrolysis were found, the manufacturing could be made a highly successful enterprise. it was the purpose of this research to investigate the methods by which the hydrolysis of wheat glutes can do conveniently followed in order to determine the efficiency of reactions run under specific conditions.
