Professor Whitehead is a Realist. Realism holds that some or all known objects do not depend on the mind for existence. It ls possible that objects exist without being known. Space and time, energy, matter, plant world, and values may exist independent of a mind. He is not a materialist nor an idealist. Not a materialist for he has thrown away the Newtonian physics nor an idealist for he states that minds are concrete events existing in space and time. There have been a number of investigations dealing with the abortion of essential organs in the imperfect flowers. Ulvin submitted a paper on Abortive Stamens and Carpels in Lychnis alba, Simon described stamen and carpel abortion in Cucumis stativus, Schaffner was able to control sex expression in Arisamea triphyllum and secure sex reversal in Cannabis stiva, Bessey determined the relationship of sex to the age of pollen in Cannabis sativa.

An Analysis Of Crop Production In South Dakota By Types Of Farming Areas, Warren Richards Bailey

Farmers choose the crops they grow for two principal users; namely, for feed production or for cash income, or for both feed and cash income. It is true that some crops are grown for cover-crops, soil building, weed competition and a multitude of other miscellaneous purposes, many of them of equal or greater importance in the individual case than the two uses of crops which are the basis for this analysis. Crop production in South Dakota has been discussed since the first records of yields were available. the usual unit for production was the legal bushel of a specified weight.

John Hampden Randolph, a native of Virginia born in 1813 came to Mississippi with his parents in 1819. He grew up on his father's plantation in Wilkinson County and subsequently became a cotton farmer. This was his occupation in Mississippi until 1841 when he bought a plantation in Iberville Parish, Louisiana to which he moved in December of that year. For three years he raised cotton as a staple on his plantation. "Forest Rome," but at the end of that time changed to sugar cane.

The majority of people assume that Fascism is a purely recent phenomenon. This paper is an effort to prove by a historical formula, an analysis of fact, and a parallel of events that the finished product of Fascism today has been in the making for a century. It sees the manifest origins of Fascism in the philosophy of Hegel and the milieu out of which Hegelianism grew. Then Fascism first took political form in the preliminary experiment of Louis Napoleon. For some years after that passed it was merely an infiltrating element in the structure of democracy.
