The Effect Of Catalyst And Time Upon The Oxidation Of Cotton Seed Oil Air Blown At 115 Degrees C, Joseph Toth Jun 1940

The Effect Of Catalyst And Time Upon The Oxidation Of Cotton Seed Oil Air Blown At 115 Degrees C, Joseph Toth

Bachelors’ Theses

Of late years, the manufacture of oils oxidized by the direct action of air upon them, has greatly increased. ’’Blown oils”, as these are called, render non-drying or semi-drying oils (rape, cotton seed, etc.) more suitable for paint, either directly or as ingredients in paint mixtures. In the case of drying oils (linseed oil, etc.), oxidation changes necessary to produce more rapid absorption of oxygen from the air by the oil, is brought about more rapidly.

This experimentation was suggested by the work of A. Ivanova, who blew air through cotton seed oil at 115°C until required drying properties were …

A Study Of The Electrodeposition Of Chromium Directly On Aluminum, Paul E. Truttschel

Bachelors’ Theses

The electrolytic deposition of chromium has been an accomplished fact since the early 1920's. Considerable investigation had taken place before this, but it was not until 1920 that any process had been devised to make chromium plating successful commercially. Since then, and especially in the last ten years, this has been a favorite research problem amony[sic] many electrochemists and the results have been most gratifying.

By far the greatest amount of work has been done, however, using metals such as copper, steel, and brass for cathodes, very little information being obtainable concerning the chromium plating of aluminum. Most of the …

Thus the Day of Atonement stands before us in the Scripture as a monument of that wisdom of God which always finds means exactly fitted to supply the needs of men under the conditions and times in which they live, and still more as a monument to that loving kindness of the Lord which is ever stooping to the sinners to rescue their souls from death and to “restore unto them the joy of His salvation.”

Bronson Cutting: A Political Biography, Jonathan R. Cunningham May 1940

Bronson Cutting: A Political Biography, Jonathan R. Cunningham

History ETDs

No comprehensive study has been made of the recent political history of New Mexico and the personalities that have influenced its governmental processes. The purpose of this thesis is to make a contribution in this field. Ever since man first discovered that he could better accomplish his ends through cooperation, he has been intrigued by the art of politics. Equally fascinating has been the study of the best means of organizing and the state. Much has been written on politics and government from the time of the Greek philosophers to the present day, but history shows that the forms and …

The Influence Of The Oxford Movement On Poetry, Mary Margery Smith

English Language and Literature ETDs

As a source of literature the Oxford Movement, beginning in 1833, occupies a place unique and apart. Over three thousand volumes on this Movement are said to have issued from the press, reviewing the entire history, its outstanding features, its inner spirit, and its lasting effects.

It was a sudden ripening of varied fruit on a vine that seemed barren, for its first phase rose out of the Church of England, at that time seemingly satisfied with its Erastianism; the second phase opened when John Henry Newman seceded to Rome, and then divided into two channels -- the Anglo-Catholic flood …
