BACKGROUND
Sepsis is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in critically ill children, yet heterogeneous immune responses complicate the development of targeted therapies and the host immune factors driving sepsis pathobiology remain unclear.
METHODS
We integrated deep immune phenotyping, plasma proteomics, single-cell transcriptomics, and phosphoflow cytometry in a prospective cohort of 88 critically ill children to elucidate the mechanisms underlying immune heterogeneity.
RESULTS
Unsupervised clustering of plasma cytokines identified 3 immunologic subgroups, including a high-severity group (“Group C”) characterized by hypercytokinemia driven by IL-6 and IFN-γ. Group C exhibited distinct alterations in immune cell frequency and activation, with a …

Background: Attendance in substance-use-disorder group-treatment is challenging with only 32% of patients attending at least one session (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality. Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS): 2023 admissions to and discharges from substance use treatment services reported by single state agencies, Bethesda, 2025). The present study tested a set of strategies to increase group session attendance in Community Wise, an innovative evidence-based group-intervention delivered in harm-reduction-community-based agencies and designed to reduce alcohol and substance use among people with substance-use-disorders living in predominantly Black and disinvested communities. We examined: (1) …

Proteogenomic analyses have identified an association between LIG1 (DNA Ligase I) loss and chemotherapy resistance in a subset of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) enriched for TP53 mutations. Here, we demonstrate that co-occurrence of TP53 mutations and LIG1 loss is associated with upregulated DDR activity, including homologous recombination, likely contributing to reduced platinum sensitivity. Unbiased genetic and monotherapy drug screens identified PARP inhibitors (PARPi) as a potential treatment for LIG1-depleted tumors; however, the increase in sensitivity was modest and lower than that observed in TNBC models with homologous recombination deficiency. Subsequently, a screen of PARP inhibition in combination with each …

Safe, Secure, And Affordable? The State Of Household Water Insecurity In California, Melissa Beresford, Wendy Jepson, Jeremiah Osborne-Gowey, Kristin Dobbin, Amanda Fencl, Silvia R. González, Gregory Pierce
Faculty Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity
California's efforts to advance the Human Right to Water are constrained by limited household-level data on water insecurity. Using the 2021 CalSpeaks statewide probability survey (n = 628) this study offers the first representative look at water insecurity across California households. Results reveal significant water-related struggles: approximately 23% of respondents worried about having enough water to meet their household needs, 15% worried about perceived health impacts from water quality, and 7% struggled with affordability. Negative binomial regression models show that water insecurity is not randomly distributed: households with non-white residents, households which rely on private or small water companies for …

Knowledge And Application Of Solar Energy As Alternative Power Source To Ict Facilities: A Case Study Of Minhaj University Lahore, Dr.Shahid Mehmood Dr., , Muhammad Faisal Mr., Ahmad Nawaz, Dr Allah Ditta Nawaz, Dr. Muhammad Aamir Hameed
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
This paper is an exploration of the knowledge and utilization of solar energy to support ICT infrastructure at Minhaj University Lahore. In Pakistan, library operations and digital services can be disrupted due to power outages. In the survey, 87 scholars, students and library workers were surveyed about their awareness, experience and attitudes towards solar energy. The level of knowledge on solar energy was high as 100% of the respondents indicated that they are well informed about solar energy, 93.1 percent indicating that they can use it in the ICT sector. Nonetheless, large start-up costs, lack of equipment, and institutional barriers …
Credential-Isolation Protocol For Autonomous Ai Coders In Multi-Tenant Repositories, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Credential-Isolation Protocol For Autonomous Ai Coders In Multi-Tenant Repositories, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
Autonomous AI coding agents that branch, commit, and push on behalf of a fleet invert the assumption behind conventional continuous-integration (CI) secret handling. CI secret models deliver credentials through environment variables and rely on log masking, because they assume the untrusted principal is a human operator or an external attacker reading build logs — not the code author itself. When the code author is a large-language-model (LLM) agent that runs in-process with the orchestrator, inherits its environment, and can emit arbitrary files and network calls under an auto-accept edit mode, an environment-delivered token becomes an open exfiltration channel and log …
Webhook-Anchored Call-Bound Hmac Token Chain For Telephony Media-Stream Websocket Upgrades, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Webhook-Anchored Call-Bound Hmac Token Chain For Telephony Media-Stream Websocket Upgrades, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
Every widely-copied "connect a phone call to a realtime LLM" sample — Twilio Media Streams bridged into OpenAI Realtime, and the many forks of it — ships an application WebSocket endpoint (commonly /media-stream or /api/voice/stream) that accepts any upgrade request that knows the path. The telephony provider connects to that socket out-of-band, over the public internet, carrying no bearer credential. An attacker who learns or guesses the path can open the same socket and drive a paid realtime-inference session on the victim's account: classic toll-fraud and premium-resource abuse. This publication discloses a fail-closed trust chain that closes the hole without …

This document outlines a standardized, closed-loop biological framework for manufacturing high-tensile structural fibers capable of supporting high-altitude or orbital infrastructure. The pipeline eliminates the requirement for traditional heavy industrial refinery infrastructure by utilizing a re-engineered multi-organism bacterial substrate. Through co-cultured metabolic pathways, engineered microorganisms systematically convert base carbon inputs into volatile propane and ammonia gases. These gases are captured, reacted via ammoxidation, and carbonized to generate advanced carbon-fiber matrices suitable for aerospace tether deployments.

Pipeline For Llm Refinement With Expert Routing, Consensus, And Impact Attribution, Saloni Priya
Defensive Publications Series
Systems and methods can refine LLM outputs through a pipeline architecture that integrates human expert feedback. This pipeline may feature a dynamic routing engine to assign detected errors to qualified experts, an adaptive quality-weighted consensus engine to validate proposed corrections, and an impact attribution engine to measure the value of contributions. These components can operate in a feedback loop to identify, correct, and reintegrate validated knowledge. This process can be used to ground future LLM generations with curated information, potentially affecting the factual accuracy and reliability of model outputs in a scalable manner.
Reactive Mid-Session Expansion Of A Multi-Agent Large-Language-Model Team Under Bounded Admission And Guaranteed-Termination Phase Constraints, With Cross-Session Agent Reincarnation, Antonio Gallego Sáez, Juan Cazila
Reactive Mid-Session Expansion Of A Multi-Agent Large-Language-Model Team Under Bounded Admission And Guaranteed-Termination Phase Constraints, With Cross-Session Agent Reincarnation, Antonio Gallego Sáez, Juan Cazila
Defensive Publications Series
In the context of multi-agent artificial intelligence (AI) environments in which a supervisor large language model (LLM) agent participates in a bounded collaborative reasoning session alongside a pre-declared team of specialist LLM agents, a system is proposed herein that dynamically spawns agents on demand by allowing the supervisor LLM agent to emit structured spawn directives during selected phases of a session. The team of specialist LLM agents can thereby expand in response to domain gaps discovered during the session while remaining subject to bounded-admission and guaranteed-termination constraints.

Policy-Graph Audit Method For Algorithmic Collusion Detection In Multi-Agent Pricing Systems, Anonymous
Policy-Graph Audit Method For Algorithmic Collusion Detection In Multi-Agent Pricing Systems, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
A computer-implemented audit evaluates collusion risk in multi-agent reinforcement-learning pricing systems by analyzing the full counterfactual structure of trained policies rather than only observed price traces. Trained policies are frozen into deterministic greedy action mappings over a discrete joint market state space. A deterministic successor mapping is computed for each joint state to form a directed functional graph with one outgoing edge per state. The graph is decomposed into attractor cycles and basins of attraction that partition the state space. Each attractor is assigned an elevation score based on mean cycle price relative to reference Nash and joint-profit-maximizing price levels, …
Integrated System For Parallel Codebook Generation Via Discrete Flow Matching With Latent-Compressed Encoder States And Fused Gpu Kernel Execution, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
Systems and methods generate multi-codebook semantic identifiers for generative retrieval using parallel discrete flow matching, latent-compressed encoder conditioning, and fused GPU execution. A user context is encoded to an encoder representation E, which is compressed to a latent-compressed encoder state cKV = E * Wdown with dc << D. N candidate discrete states over K codebooks are initialized from noise and iteratively denoised for T steps, updating all K codebook positions in parallel according to per-codebook schedules sigma_k(t) = t^{alpha_k} with learnable alpha_k. Cross-attention conditioning is computed over cKV using absorbed projection operations. Flow updates and candidate scoring execute within a single fused GPU kernel launch that may be persistent, retaining cKV in on-chip cache across steps and selecting top-n outputs.
Power-Efficient Packet Aggregation For Wireless Radio During Low-Power Processor Data Offload Via Throughput-Mismatched Interface, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
A wireless radio buffers packets received from a low-power processor over a lower-throughput host interface while keeping radio-frequency (RF) hardware in a low-power state. Firmware on the wireless radio detects a first packet arrival and starts a single-shot aggregation timer. Subsequent packets received during the timer interval are accumulated in a local buffer without powering the RF hardware. When the timer expires, the firmware activates RF circuitry and transmits the accumulated packets as a high-throughput over-the-air burst. After the burst, the aggregation timer is not re-armed, allowing later packets to be transmitted without added aggregation delay. The timer duration may …

Health-Gated Deploy-Authority Reconciler, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Health-Gated Deploy-Authority Reconciler, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This document discloses a post-deploy reconciler that keeps a single, high-blast-radius production workload converged to an authorized image without reverting legitimate, healthy, out-of-band deployments. A short-interval reconciliation job reads a mutable, agent-writable in-cluster authority record — carrying an authorized image, a deploy-in-progress flag, a holder identity and a reason — and compares it against the live workload's running image and the readiness of its serving pod. The reconciler's corrective action is gated on a conjunction predicate: it reverts the workload to the authorized image only when the running image differs from the authorized image AND the serving pod is not …
Dual-Plane Inbound Email Delivery, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Dual-Plane Inbound Email Delivery, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This publication discloses, enablingly and in dated public form, a mechanism for inbound email delivery that simultaneously serves a human mail client and an autonomous software agent from a single ingress event, without duplicating the message, forking the pipeline, or degrading store fidelity. One webhook endpoint accepts two payload shapes — raw MIME posted as base64 by a byte-preserving edge worker, or already-parsed legacy JSON — and discriminates between them at runtime by the presence of a non-empty raw carrier field. Threading headers (Message-ID, In-Reply-To, References, Cc) are extracted continuation-aware directly off the raw bytes so that RFC 5322 folded …
Provenance-Tiered Database Serve-Override Cms Over Immutable Container Assets, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Provenance-Tiered Database Serve-Override Cms Over Immutable Container Assets, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This document discloses, as enabling public prior art, a content-management mechanism that layers a database-backed content overlay on top of an immutable set of static assets baked into a container image. A single GET-only "serve-override" resolver, keyed on the tuple (slug, locale, audience), returns a published database row when one exists and otherwise falls through to the baked file. The image is the read-only floor; the running pod is never written at request time. Two structural properties are central. First, a reserved-slug set — authentication, session, and OAuth callback paths — is never overridable, so security-critical routes always execute baked, …
Deterministic Stateless Digital-Twin Rendering Of A Live Ai-Agent Workforce With Ledger-Windowed Replay, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Deterministic Stateless Digital-Twin Rendering Of A Live Ai-Agent Workforce With Ledger-Windowed Replay, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This document discloses, with enabling detail sufficient for a person of ordinary skill to build it, a method and system for rendering a live, game-like visualization of a workforce of autonomous software agents in which every visual property is a pure deterministic function of operational records and the renderer holds no game state. Avatar state resolves by an active-work-wins-over-the-clock precedence; deterministic hashing places desks and picks palette swatches with a bounded collision-walk over the true floor grid; an ambient night tint is computed from the share of off-shift ("dreaming") agents plus the server hour, never a viewer's clock; ledger events …

Spec-Less Differential Api/Rbac Conformance Scanner With Source-As-Oracle Auth Probing, Llm Test Synthesis, And Automatic Bug-To-Repair Handoff, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This publication discloses a computer-implemented method and system that scans a running HTTP/REST service for authentication and role-based access-control (RBAC) conformance defects without any machine-readable API specification. Conventional API security scanners (Schemathesis, RESTler, 42Crunch, StackHawk, and comparable tools) require an OpenAPI/Swagger document or a recorded traffic corpus to know both what endpoints exist and what each endpoint's correct behavior is. The disclosed mechanism removes that dependency by treating the service's router source code as the single source of truth: a lightweight parser enumerates route registrations, and — the central novelty — the auth-middleware tokens present on each route's own physical …

Modality-Blind, Local-First Handwriting Evidence Ingestion With Server-Side Image Rejection And Absence-Never-Denies Gate Equity, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
Adaptive-learning platforms increasingly want to admit analog work — a photographed page of handwritten work — as assessment evidence alongside typed and spoken answers. The obvious implementation is corrosive: it uploads a child's handwriting image to a server, applies a single blanket consent posture across every capture surface, and — most insidiously — lets the presence of a shiny new evidence channel become an implicit penalty for the learner who has no camera, no printer, or no wish to photograph their work. This disclosure describes a mechanism that structurally refuses all three failure modes. First, the client performs deterministic on-device …
Reflexive-Feedback Stability Envelope For An In-Process Autonomous Code-Repair Agent, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Reflexive-Feedback Stability Envelope For An In-Process Autonomous Code-Repair Agent, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
An autonomous error-remediation (AER) agent that runs in the same process as the software it repairs faces a structural instability absent from out-of-band remediation systems: it consumes the very telemetry stream it emits. Its diagnostic logs, its "ticket escalated" notices, its patch-apply chatter — all land back in the shared in-memory log buffer it polls for errors. Left unbounded, this closed loop self-excites: one real error produces a ticket, the ticket produces log output, the log output is parsed as a new error, and the agent oscillates or floods without ever converging. This publication discloses a Reflexive-Feedback Stability Envelope: a …
Fail-Closed Multi-Backend Artifact Gate With Reject-Biased Union Resolution And A Single Chokepoint, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Fail-Closed Multi-Backend Artifact Gate With Reject-Biased Union Resolution And A Single Chokepoint, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This publication discloses, with enabling detail, a fail-closed governance gate that is invoked at every path capable of creating, registering, or enabling a governed unit of work — a new application, a new game, or a large ("big-task") change. The gate refuses to let creation proceed unless a mandated set of governance artifacts (an idea brief, a purpose statement, a design, a cost model, an implementation plan, a deployment runbook, and a live tracker) is proven to exist. The novelty is not "check that files exist." It is how presence is resolved. A mandated artifact may live in any one …
Anti-Fake-Green Compliance Scanner, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Anti-Fake-Green Compliance Scanner, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
Automated compliance-as-code tooling collapses a passing check into a claim of full control adoption. That collapse is the root cause of "fake green": a compliance dashboard that reports an application as governed when, in fact, the machine has only observed the presence of a shape — a file, a string, a field — and has proven nothing about adequacy. A present-but-inert authentication middleware (const requireAuth = () => (req, res, next) => next()), a database-facade bypass, a header-only tracker CSV, or a hardcoded credential can all satisfy naive presence checks and light the board green. This disclosure describes a coherent protocol that …

Subgroup-Blind Dif Harness For Llm Judges With Matched-Pair Red-Team And Synthetic-Evidence Signability Lockout, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
Automated large-language-model (LLM) judges increasingly score open-ended learner work — a reading inference, a written argument, an arithmetic explanation — and their scores feed high-stakes gates such as a mastery or promotion decision. A grader of this kind can systematically under-read responses expressed in a non-standard dialect (e.g., African American Vernacular English, "AAVE"), English-as-a-second-language (ESL) phrasing, or an atypical-but-valid reasoning path, even when the underlying competence is identical to a standard-dialect response. Raw disparate-outcome checks (comparing mean scores across groups) cannot distinguish this grader bias from genuine ability differences, and making the grader "aware" of subgroup membership to correct for …
Owner-Gated Conversation-To-Cognition Ingestion With Lazy Persona Activation And Crash-Restorable Process Table, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Owner-Gated Conversation-To-Cognition Ingestion With Lazy Persona Activation And Crash-Restorable Process Table, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This publication discloses, in enabling detail, a mechanism that couples a synchronous conversational assistant (a chat surface a human talks to and gets an immediate answer from) to an asynchronous autonomous-agent runtime (a background "persona" that perceives, reasons, plans, acts, and reflects on its own schedule) through a single caller-trust-scoped ingestion valve. Every conversational turn is stamped with an access mode denoting the trust of the caller. The valve admits a turn as cognitive work only when the access mode denotes the resource owner; turns from untrusted (guest) callers are dropped at the valve so untrusted conversation never becomes autonomous …
Dual-Path Work Delivery Into An Agent Cognitive Loop, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Dual-Path Work Delivery Into An Agent Cognitive Loop, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This publication discloses, in enabling detail, a dual-path protocol for delivering a unit of work into an autonomous agent's cognitive loop and for verifying, out of band, that the work does not silently stall. A fast path enqueues a work item in-process onto a resident attention queue by resolving the engine from a shared carrier (a config bridge object, else a last-resort global handle) and calling a plain function; this path is deliberately lossy — it never retries, never demands an acknowledgement, and fails soft to false when the engine is not resident. Correctness is not entrusted to the fast …
Closed-Loop Cross-Call Caller Memory For Voice Ai Agents, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Closed-Loop Cross-Call Caller Memory For Voice Ai Agents, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This defensive publication discloses a closed-loop memory architecture for real-time voice AI agents in which the machine-readable output of a post-call extraction step is fed back to reconfigure the next generative session. On call teardown, a single generative pass jointly extracts the spoken caller identity and composes a personalized follow-up email, halving per-call inference cost relative to running extraction and composition as two passes. A per-persona configuration row gates a five-way action fan-out — follow-up email, admin briefing, CRM contact, CRM lead/ticket, and caller memory — over that single result. CRM lead creation exploits a unique-constraint violation as a control …
Spoken-Delegation Phone-Errand Protocol, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Spoken-Delegation Phone-Errand Protocol, Gustavo Matthew Assuncao
Defensive Publications Series
This publication discloses, enables, and dates a protocol by which a human, while already speaking with an AI voice agent over a live telephone call, verbally delegates a second, downstream phone errand — and the platform autonomously performs it end to end and reports back. The mechanism has four coupled parts. First, in-call task capture: a function/tool call the model issues mid-conversation (schedulecall) converts a spoken delegation into a typed task row in the agent's own workspace, and the confirmation is spoken back within the same turn. Second, LLM workflow synthesis: a cognitive loop later dequeues the task and an …
