The visitors of this noble and time-honored institution of learning, assembled at the College on the 14th inst., elected Judge Scarburgh to fill the professorship of law, made vacant by the death of Judge Tucker.

It must be gratifying to every Virginian to know that this College, the great mother of Virginia mind, and identified with all the past history of the State, is now in a very prosperous condition. And it must be gratifying to every parent to know that at no College will the moral and religious character of his child be more safely guarded than here. …
