Chimica et Natura Acta

The development of natural cosmetic raw materials as anti-aging agents is one area of research that receives significant attention. Secondary metabolites and extracts from plants have been widely studied and found to possess anti-aging activity. Previous research yielded results showing very strong antioxidant activity of the extract and fractions of namnam leaves. This study aims to analyze the metabolite from the strongest fraction from antioxidant activity and analyze the interaction of flavonoid metabolites with elastase enzymes in silico. Metabolite analysis was performed using LC-HRMS. The molecular docking study was conducted on protein code 5A09 using Autodock Tools 1.4.7. The skin …

Exact Formulas For Restricted Coprime Representations Of Even Integers, Andres Mauricio Salazar Oct 2026

Exact Formulas For Restricted Coprime Representations Of Even Integers, Andres Mauricio Salazar

Communications on Number Theory and Combinatorial Theory

Let p ≥ 5 be prime, and let g(2n,p) denote the number of unordered representations by positive integers 2n = h + k, with h ≤ k and gcd(h,6p) = gcd(k,6p) = 1. Every positive integer coprime to 6 belongs to exactly one of the families 6z + 1 and 6z + 5. In each family, divisibility by p excludes one explicit residue class of z modulo p. We use these two excluded classes to derive an exact formula for g(2n,p) from finite residue counts and nonnegative lift counts. The formula is valid for every positive integer n, including all …

Nature And The Fulfillment Of Psychological Needs: A Qualitative Study, Leah Skelton Oct 2026

Nature And The Fulfillment Of Psychological Needs: A Qualitative Study, Leah Skelton

The Bear Counseling Collective

As mental health disorder rates increase and nature contact decreases in the general population, it is in the interest of public health to understand the impact of nature on mental health and social belonging, particularly in order to utilize these benefits most effectively and efficiently for intervention design. Estimates of mental health disorder prevalence indicate one in five adults is affected annually (CDC, 2023; NIMH, 2023), with rates of anxiety, depression, and psychological distress rising in particular among youth and young adults (CDC, 2023). Similarly, as rates of stress and loneliness increase, researchers and public health organizations alike are calling …

Preparing For Effective Supervision: Considerations For First Time Supervisees, Mallory Radcliff, Laura Rivas Oct 2026

Preparing For Effective Supervision: Considerations For First Time Supervisees, Mallory Radcliff, Laura Rivas

The Bear Counseling Collective

Supervision is an essential part of clinical training and serves as an essential support to students who are beginning to see clients for the first time (American Counseling Association [ACA], 2014; Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs [CACREP], 2024). To effectively utilize supervision, it is important to establish shared expectations and goals between supervisor and supervisee (Bernard & Goodyear, 2019). Without previous experience in supervision, it may feel challenging for first time supervisees to know what appropriate goals or expectations of supervision are. Current literature focuses primarily on effective supervision from a supervisory perspective and lacks a …

Mitigating Mental Health Disparities: Ethnic Matching As A Moderating Variable On Help Seeking Using The Theory Of Planned Behavior, Max Oishi Oct 2026

Mitigating Mental Health Disparities: Ethnic Matching As A Moderating Variable On Help Seeking Using The Theory Of Planned Behavior, Max Oishi

The Bear Counseling Collective

There are significant mental health treatment disparities for racially and ethnically minoritized (REM) populations (Lin et al., 2023; McGuire & Miranda, 2008; Thomeer et al., 2023). These disparities include REM populations seeking help for mental health treatment at differing rates compared to European Americans along with significant treatment underutilization for REM populations along with intergroup differences (Choi et al., 2019; Hosseini & Kubavat, 2022; Kim & Lee, 2022; Kwong et al., 2025; Schraufnagel et al., 2006; Sheehan et al., 2018 & 2024). Due to underutilization, research suggests ethnic matching and/or racial matching could mediate mental health disparities for REM populations …

Journal of Peace, Conflict, and Security Studies

Robert Muharremi and Alisa Ramadani’s Transforming a Guerrilla into a Regular Army: From the Kosovo Liberation Army to the Army of the Republic of Kosovo seeks to provide an accessible, academic narrative of Kosovo’s security transformation. It traces the evolution from the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), through the Kosovo Protection Corps (KPC), to the current Kosovo Security Force (KSF). The result of this evolution is a military force which today holds a full-fledged defense mission.

Visoka, Gëzim. The Derecognition Of States. Ann Arbor: University Of Michigan Press, 2024., Aidan Hehir

Journal of Peace, Conflict, and Security Studies

Gëzim Visoka describes the derecognition of states as “a puzzling feature in world politics” (p. 114). This is certainly true. For many decades derecognition was a peripheral concern given it was rarely practiced after the UN was established in 1945; one notable exception being the derecognition of Taiwan, which has been ongoing since the 1950s. In recent years, however, it has become of significantly greater interest as it has become more common; of the five cases Visoka examines – Taiwan, Western Sahara, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Kosovo – four are very definitely products of the post-Cold War era. Despite this, …

Hehir, Aidan. Kosovo And The “Internationals”: Hope, Hubris, And The End Of History. Cham: Palgrave Macmillan, 2024, Sead Zimeri

Journal of Peace, Conflict, and Security Studies

Hope is enjoying a scholarly renaissance. Building on the “standard account” of hope as a desire for an outcome believed to be possible, recent work by Luc Bovens, Victoria McGeer, Adrienne Martin, Darrel Moellendorf, Michael Milona, and Katie Stockdale has refined the concept, distinguishing it from optimism and expectation, and asking when hoping is rational and what it requires. Yet this literature has remained largely within moral psychology; sustained tests against concrete political history are rare. Conversely, the enormous literature on humanitarian intervention and state-building has had much to say about power, legitimacy, and paternalism, and almost nothing about hope. …

Identité Ambiguë, Mémoire Traumatisée, Et Discours Postcolonial Dans Petit Pays De Gaël Faye, Israel Adégòkè Owóṣení

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

La Traduction Se Mondialise Au Sein Des Organisations Internationales : Une Bénédiction Ou Une Malédiction?, Ezekiel O. Tanitolorun Ph.D, Tajudeen Salaudeen

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

Beyond Words: Semiotic Decoding Of Rẹ́Rẹ́Rún (Catastrophe Au Rendez-Vous) By Ọládẹ̀Jọ Òkédìjí And The Rich Tradition Of Yorùbá Theater, Nafiu O. Oloore Mr Oct 2026

Beyond Words: Semiotic Decoding Of Rẹ́Rẹ́Rún (Catastrophe Au Rendez-Vous) By Ọládẹ̀Jọ Òkédìjí And The Rich Tradition Of Yorùbá Theater, Nafiu O. Oloore Mr

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

Many researchers have focused on analysing novels, poems, and drama in the French language while neglecting certain subgenres. Although numerous studies have been conducted on semiotic analysis in French, little effort has been made to analyze Yorùbá drama. Thus, this study aims to provide a semiotic analysis of Rẹ́rẹ́rún (Catastrophe au rendez-vous) by Ọládẹ̀jọ Òkédìjí. This study adopts a qualitative research approach and textual explanation as its methodology. The semiotics theory proposed by Ferdinand de Saussure is employed as the theoretical framework. Following the qualitative method, twenty signs relevant to this study were selected for interpretation. Semiotics is chosen because …

L’Éducation, Un Chemin Inévitable De L’Altérité À L’Inclusion; Un Récit De La Femme Africaine Dans Aya De Yopougon(1-3) De Marguerite Abouet Et Clément Oubrerie, Nkonye Lolita Nmorka Oct 2026

L’Éducation, Un Chemin Inévitable De L’Altérité À L’Inclusion; Un Récit De La Femme Africaine Dans Aya De Yopougon(1-3) De Marguerite Abouet Et Clément Oubrerie, Nkonye Lolita Nmorka

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

Une Analyse Intersectionnelle De L'Albinisme Dans L'Instinct De Survie D'Éveline Mankou Et Ses Implications Contemporaines, Gracious Ojiebun, Eiloghosa Enogiomwan

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

Voix Proverbiales Et L'Esthétique Socioculturelle : Les Proverbes Africains Dans La Trilogie De Kouta De Massa Makan Diabate, Ademola Malick Adebayo, Israel Adégòkè Owóṣení

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

Blending Oral Tradition And New Media In Digital Storytelling In Francophone Africa, Moses Chibueze Opara Odogwu

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

This paper investigates the dynamic convergence of oral tradition and new media within the context of digital storytelling in Francophone Africa. Grounded in age-old practices of communal narratives and cultural transmission, oral storytelling has experienced a resurgence through digital platforms, including social media, Tiktok, podcasts, and multimedia productions. This integration facilitates the preservation, revitalisation, and worldwide dissemination of indigenous narratives while promoting vibrant cultural dialogues across different generations. The study analyses how digital storytelling incorporates traditional African oral forms with modern technologies to develop hybrid narratives that transcend local limitations. It also tackles important issues that influence the changing landscape, …

Femo Loquens: Gendered Memory, Afrosofian Thought, And The Speaking Woman In Present-Day Burkina Faso, Diweng Mercy Dafong

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

In order to analyze how female Burkinabè writers and filmmakers contribute to the decolonial endeavor of recovering knowledge, voice, and historical agency following colonial disruption, this paper introduces the idea of femo loquens, a gendered extension of homo loquens as theorized by François Ngoa Kodena. I contend that fiction makers like Apolline Traoré in her movie Sira, Monique Ilboudo in her novel Carrefour des veuves, and Roukiata Ouedraogo in herr novel Le petit mari serve as sofian thinkers whose artistic creations interact with gendered memory and postcolonial realities, drawing on Kodena's Afrosofian philosophy, which emphasizes epistemic plurality, cosmological rootedness, …

L'Exploration Des Figures De Style Dans Maeva Et Les Nuages Du Passé De Fatou Fanny-Cissé, Oladeji Olayiwola Nureni Mr

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

Contextualizing Inclusion And Connection In An Absurd World: An Analysis Of Albert Camus’ The Plague, Peter Akongfeh Akongfeh Agwu Ph.D, Peace Onwanua Ph.D., John Ogidi Acha

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

Scholars have extensively analyzed Albert Camus’s The Plaque, while interpreting its narrative through existential and absurdist lenses. However, little literature is recorded on how the novel contextualizes themes of inclusion and human connection amidst an absurd world. This study addresses this gap by examining the dynamics of solidarity and shared resistance among the characters within the framework of Camus’s philosophy of the absurd. The aim is to ex-ray how Camus reconciles the tension between the absurd and the human need for meaning through collective action and emotional bonds. A qualitative methodology is employed, involving a close textual analysis of the …

The French Revolution And Napoleon: The Beginnings Of A Modern World Order, S Trent Dunkin

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

The French Revolutionary and Napoleonic periods, roughly 1789 to 1815, witnessed the fall of the Ancien Régime in France and the foundation of the French Republic. However, this larger period can be divided into three smaller periods: (1) the French Revolutionary Period (1789-1799); (2) the Napoleonic Era (1799-1814); and (3) the Congress of Vienna (1814-1815). This article discusses these three periods individually and their respective contributions that helped to usher in a political order more familiar to the contemporary world. Specifically, this article will explore the following things: The Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen, the …

Digitalverse And The African Narratives: Ai As A New Platform For African Cultural Preservation, Mudasiru Babatunde Sulaiman Mr, Tajudeen Salaudeen

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

Abstract

This article delves into the concept of digital universe as a transforming digital system for the preservation of African culture, with a target on the unique role of artificial intelligence (AI) as a means of storytelling and cultural continuity. For long, there have been problems of availability of sustainable digital infrastructure where African storytelling can be preserved. This study therefore examines the intersection of AI and African storytelling through emerging digital projects, virtual storytelling spaces, and tools that digitize and translate African languages and oral traditions. It argues that AI not only expands the reach of African cultural narratives, …

Cultural And Social Inclusion In Sexe Et Mensonges: La Vie Sexuelle Au Maroc By Leïla Slimani: A Critical Perspective, Juliet N. Elikwu Dr.

Tête à Tête: Journal of Francophone Studies

Several published studies on Leïla Slimani's Sexe et Mensonges: La Vie sexuelle au Maroc have extensively examined the themes of sexual taboos and the challenges facing women in Moroccan society. But, limited attention has been given to her portrayal of cultural and social inclusion through the testimonies and narratives of marginalized women in academic discourse. This study seeks to analyze the dynamics of inclusion and exclusion within the framework of cultural norms and patriarchal structures depicted in the work. The study draws on a qualitative methodology centered on close textual analysis. The theoretical framework integrates Michel Foucault’s concepts of power …
