The Trauma Challenge: Are You Ready To Lead With Trust-Based Relational Intervention?, Tara Quinn-Schuldt Dr., Patrick Walker, Melinda Meadow, Megan Jance Jun 2026

The Trauma Challenge: Are You Ready To Lead With Trust-Based Relational Intervention?, Tara Quinn-Schuldt Dr., Patrick Walker, Melinda Meadow, Megan Jance

Southeast Conference on School Climate

In today’s educational landscape, understanding trauma isn’t optional, it’s essential. The Cherokee County School District has transformed from trauma-aware to trauma-responsive through intentional implementation and the creation of its connectED cohort training model. Combining strategic district-wide staff, including administrators, teachers, school support personnel, nurses, and resource officers—we created a collective approach to improving school climate, culture, and overall student outcomes. This comprehensive model integrates mental health, attachment theory, behavior intervention, and trauma responsiveness into the educational environment. This session shares evidence-based tools, a trauma-responsiveness assessment template, and strategies to address contradictions and strengthen trauma-responsive practices.

Transforming School Climate And Culture Through Restorative Practices, Dr. Tiffany Richardson, Andrea Smith-Ward Jun 2026

Transforming School Climate And Culture Through Restorative Practices, Dr. Tiffany Richardson, Andrea Smith-Ward

Southeast Conference on School Climate

Across the nation, schools are striving to strengthen climate, culture, and student behavior amid increasing social-emotional needs and complex classroom challenges. Many campuses rely on traditional, punitive disciplinary systems that address the symptoms of misbehavior but not the underlying causes. Restorative Practices offer a powerful, research-based alternative—one that builds relationships, fosters accountability, and creates school environments where students feel valued, connected, and supported. This session, led by Dr. Tiffany Richardson, an award-winning principal and recognized leader in restorative implementation, will demonstrate how Restorative Practices can transform the culture of an entire school community.

Ai And Repertory Grid In Architectural Studios For Crafting A Brand Design, Ala' Faleh Ahmed Albdour

Thesis/ Dissertation Defenses

Architectural education is currently at a crossroads. On one hand, technological innovation, particularly in the realm of design tools, is advancing at a pace that few curricula can match. On the other, public expectations of architecture are shifting, with communities seeking designs that better reflect their identity and lived experience. Yet, in many universities, the traditional studio model still dominates, relying on instructor-led critique sessions that, while valuable, can sometimes narrow student independence and overlook community priorities. This dissertation takes up that challenge by exploring an unusual pairing: generative AI text-to-image platforms, such as MidJourney, with the Repertory Grid Technique …

A Study Of Cognitive And Visual Responses During Online Product Purchase, Menekse Adar Jun 2026

A Study Of Cognitive And Visual Responses During Online Product Purchase, Menekse Adar

UTC Spring Research and Arts Conference

This study investigates how people make multi-stage purchasing decisions and whether these decisions can be predicted by ML models. Twenty-five participants interacted with a web interface presenting products framed with different marketing strategies, including discount, urgency, scarcity, and social proof. For each product, participants reported purchase intention, confidence, and decision time, and then made a final choice after viewing all options together. To better understand this process, the study combines behavioral responses with eye-tracking and EEG data.

Statistical Identification Of Fungal Biodiversity Hotspots Using Public Ecological Data, Maya P. Geick Jun 2026

Statistical Identification Of Fungal Biodiversity Hotspots Using Public Ecological Data, Maya P. Geick

UTC Spring Research and Arts Conference

Biodiversity hotspots are geographic regions that contain exceptionally high levels of species richness, often under significant threat from human activities. These areas are critical for conservation because they support a large proportion of the world’s biological diversity within relatively limited land areas. Studying biodiversity hotspots is important for understanding patterns of species distribution, identifying priority areas for conservation, and guiding sustainable resource management. This study will use publicly available ecological data and data visualization techniques to quantify patterns of species distribution across selected geographic regions. By applying statistical measures and spatial visualization tools, the analysis will identify areas of high …
