Dispossession, Environmental Degradation, And Youth Migration Among The Pijao Of Southern Tolima, Neider Devia Merchan

This presentation examines how land dispossession, environmental degradation, and capitalist economic transformations shape youth migration among the Indigenous Pijao people of Southern Tolima, Colombia. Based on semi-structured interviews with Pijao community members from different generations, the talk explores how limited economic opportunities, environmental degradation, and unequal access to land make it increasingly difficult for young people to remain in their territories. At the same time, youth migration affects the transmission of Indigenous knowledge, including oral histories, agricultural practices, language, and community memory. Osteoarthritis is the most common joint disease worldwide and a leading cause of pain and disability. Low-dose radiotherapy (LDRT) has emerged as a promising treatment option for patients with symptomatic osteoarthritis. This study evaluates the clinical outcomes of patients treated with LDRT at MD Anderson while investigating clinical and radiomic biomarkers associated with treatment response.

While Indigenous Peoples represent 2.9% of the total United States (US) population (Office of Minority Health, 2025), only 0.4% of the 4.7 million Registered Nurses (RN) in the US are Indigenous (AACN, 2024). This disparity in nursing representation impacts healthcare delivery and access in Indigenous communities. Healthcare services in Indigenous communities, such as those provided through Indian Health Services (IHS) and 638 facilities, often face high vacancies and high turnover rates (Kruse 2022). Elemental Analysis Of Upper Devonian To Lower Mississippian Organic-Rich Mudstone Cores From Kentucky By Portable X-Ray Fluorescence (Pxrf), Alex M. Washburn

This dataset contains high-density portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) elemental analyses of 1,867 m (6,125 ft) of Upper Devonian to Lower Mississippian organic-rich mudstone cores from Kentucky. Analyses were collected from cores across the Illinois Basin, Cincinnati Arch, and Appalachian Basin to support regional evaluation of elemental variability, chemostratigraphy, and redox-sensitive trace-metal enrichment in Devonian–Mississippian mudstone successions. All measurements were conducted using a Bruker Tracer 5 pXRF analyzer with the factory “Mudrock Air” calibration, using analytical settings optimized for both low-atomic-number elements and transition metals/redox-sensitive trace elements. This capstone project developed and implemented a sensory-informed admission protocol to support fall prevention at a skilled nursing facility. The development of this protocol aimed to improve the early identification of vision and hearing impairments and integrate sensory considerations into resident care planning and fall prevention. Participants included newly admitted residents and interdisciplinary staff members from rehabilitation, nursing, and administration. Methods included administering the Screening for Severe Dual Sensory Loss (SDSL), reviewing resident characteristics and fall-related indicators, educating staff on sensory-informed care, and developing practical resources to support consistent screening, documentation, and intervention. The purpose of this project was to develop a program for children with cerebral palsy, who experience anxiety and/or ADD/ADHD, that will promote their social participation during play activities. The program lasted for 14 weeks and had two participants, within those 14 weeks, several objectives were accomplished. These objectives include the administration of the needs assessment, implementation of the program modules, pre- and post-interviews with the caregivers and staff, and the finalization of the program. Occupational therapy students often begin Level II hand therapy fieldwork with limited preparation. This capstone project developed an evidence-informed Hand Therapy Quick Reference Guide to support students and clinicians with foundational knowledge and clinical resources. Following implementation, feedback from hand therapists, fieldwork educators, and students indicated the guide was organized, practical, and applicable across clinical settings. The guide has the potential to improve fieldwork preparedness and support successful entry into hand therapy practice.
