The purpose of this integrative review was to search the existing body of knowledge related to intensive care or critical care nurses to assess work hours and other contributors to nurse fatigue and how this relates to quality patient outcomes. Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a social and public health problem that affects millions of people each year regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, and sexual orientation. Although heterosexual IPV has been a topic of academic research, researchers have turned their attention to same-sex IPV. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals experience rates of IPV equal to or higher than rates reported by heterosexual individuals and have challenges seeking support. The purpose of this integrative review was to reveal effective ways to improve job satisfaction, decrease turnover intention, and increase retention rates among nursing staff in California nursing homes. There is not a strong consensus concerning the influence of socioeconomic factors on the use of CAM by adult diabetics.
