Nurse Productivity And Related Quality Outcomes Measurements In Behavioral Health, Leslie M. Carlos
Nurse Productivity And Related Quality Outcomes Measurements In Behavioral Health, Leslie M. Carlos
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
In outpatient mental health treatment settings, providers make up the bulk of billing revenue; however, at the inpatient and residential levels, treatment is rooted in 24-hour nursing care. The measurement of nursing’s contribution to patient care has yet to be established, and with the move towards value-based care payment models, private payors are requiring outcome measures for mental health treatment reimbursement related to nursing processes. The purpose of this review was to examine measurement systems that gauge productivity and the consequential quality outcomes associated with the functions of behavioral health nurses. The Donabedian theory was applied to this review because …

The participants were seven business leaders from seven power companies across the Midwestern United States who successfully implemented strategies to improve employee retention. Data were collected using semistructured interviews and company website information. Through thematic analysis, …

One of the VJO program’s goals has been to end JIVs' contact with the criminal justice system. This study utilized a generic qualitative design that aimed to explore JIVs who received treatment from the VJO and whether there was an effect on their risk of recidivism. Additional elements for exploration included posttraumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain disorder, …

The Substance Abuse Mental Health and Human Services Administration (SAMHSA) has set guidelines for opioid prescribing practices. The core principles of SAMHSA are to prevent overdose abuse and to provide appropriate treatment for those with an opioid abuse disorder. The concern addressed by the Doctor of Nursing Practice project was the gap in physician education regarding a Best Practice Alert (BPA) in the Electronic Medical Record that appears when prescribing an opioid to a patient without cancer. The alert indicates best practice is to prescribe naloxone with the opioid prescription. The naloxone BPA education project was implemented using the exploration, …
