Psychiatric facilities have a high rate of violence against staff and patients, resulting in negative consequences for the organization. The purpose of this integrative review is to search the existing body of knowledge regarding violence risk assessment (VRA) tools and their ability to function as a resource used to monitor conditions (patient behaviors) within the psychiatric environment in efforts to mitigate patient violence. Solutions are needed to address the overutilization of emergency departments (EDs) for ongoing and non-emergency conditions among uninsured Hispanic patients. The purpose of this review was to synthesize available evidence related to hospital utilization rates for non-emergency conditions and quality of health and to provide strategies for leaders to reduce ED utilization rates for uninsured Hispanics. An integrative review was conducted of existing literature published between 2020 and 2024. Thematic analysis identified four significant themes: (a) insurance coverage, (b) high-risk uninsured patients, (c) ED, and (d) healthcare payment models. COVID-19 vaccine uptake and compliance implementation challenges exist among some Canadian healthcare workers (HCWs), including hospital administrators, despite free vaccination as a preventive measure to control the spread. Earlier studies have examined COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy and refusal among Canadian HCWs, but not how the -19 vaccine and vaccine mandates may have influenced their decisions to refuse vaccination and quit their jobs. Period (menstruation) poverty affects women and girls in United States. In some U.S. cities, feminine hygiene items are becoming inaccessible and unaffordable to women and girls due to unequal taxation of feminine hygiene products. This case study involved exploring experiences of a Shelby County, Tennessee nonprofit’s female volunteers and recipients who receive free feminine hygiene products. The role of those who work in child protective services (CPS) is to ensure children's safety and well-being. This study explored eight CPS professionals’ perceptions of risk assessment in child protection cases and their ideas of barriers and facilitators they encountered in their decision-making in the field. This study was conducted to explore the experiences and perceptions of eight mental health clinicians on the stressors that mothers transitioning from prison face as they try to integrate into the community. The participant sample for this study consisted of eight mental health clinicians who have experience working with mothers who are transitioning out of incarceration. Law enforcement agencies across the country are confronted with the problems associated with substance abuse. Law enforcement personnel receive only cursory training on substance abuse and lack targeted training that addresses the complex problems that are associated with it, such as co-existing mental health issues.
