Simmons and 55 other participants in the Sunflower County Freedom Project perform "Five Feet Four Inches Forward," a free production based on the life of black suffragist and rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday in Meek Hall Auditorium on the University of Mississippi's Oxford campus.

William Fulbright grant for the 2002-03 academic year to study the resurgence of democracy in Croatia. Lamont graduated magna cum laude during UM's spring 2002 commencement.
