The purpose of this study was three-fold: (1) to compile information explaining what the case method is, giving instructions concerning the use of the case method for students and instructor, and discussing how cases may be obtained and written; (2) to analyze the case method of instruction to show the advantages and disadvantages of its use in teaching religion; and (3) to develop sample cases that could be used in teaching religion in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A continuous fluidisovi bed drier was designed and constructed for drying of lump lignite. The fluidised Led was 2 ft. long, 0.5 ft. wide and 1 ft. deep. The support was a grid of 1/2 in. steel rods with 1/4 in. clearance between them. Hot coiubustion gases war© used to fluidize and. dry the lignite, and a superficial gas velocity of 30 ft./sec. was used, Lamp lignite of the size range 3/4 in. x 1/4 in. and 354 moisture was successfully dried in the equipment. A Study Of Growth Rates In Seedlings Of Douglas Fir Ecotypes, Herbert D. Papenfuss

The purpose of this study was to find out if ecological races with different growth rates existed in douglas fir. Seeds were collected from six areas by the Forest Service and the author. A study was made of stem and tap root growth utilizing three photoperiods of varying length. Rate of tap root growth was significant for ecotype suggesting selection for tap root length in the plants from utah and Arizona. Each geographical area represents a growth rate ecotype with a wide break in the data on stem growth.

The purpose of this study is to describe and explain the social disorganization and community upheaval of Native Americans in Elbowoods created by the construction of the Garrison Dam. The construction of the Garrison Dam in 1954, by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, was devastating not only for Fort Berthold Indian Reservation but also for Elbowoods. Flooding of the thousands of acres caused the residences of Elbowoods to give up farmland, natural shelter for human and cattle, family structure, community gardens, and a way of life that existed for thousands of years.

With reference to anatomical studies it appears that the aerpents are indeed a neglected group ot reptiles. Although some early writers recorded a few fragmentary obser-vations on the anatomy of snakes, no attempt was made to undertake a complete comprehensive study. Cole (1944) has rightfully referred to this section of vertebrate anatomy as "almost virgin field." The serpent area of reptilian anatomy is deserving ot a more intensive investigation because of the considerable number ot adaptations demonatrated by this group of reptiles in relation to their peculiar types ot locomotion and methods ot feeding. Fleas of the genus Foxella Wagner, commonly known as "gopher fleas," have various species of the mammal genus Thomomys Weid Neuweid in the Western United States as their hosts. Some workers maintain there are at least two species of fleas while others consider that all gopher fleas are of one species.

Calorimeter values were obtained for the standard enthalpy change for the following reactions at 10,25, and 40 degrees C.: 1. The dissaciation of the amino acid, glycine, in the zwitterion form (HA) to give the basic form (A-) and a proton. 2. The reactions of copper (II) ion with glycine to form the Cu gly+ and Cu (gly)2 complexes. 3. The reactions of nickel (II) ion with glycine and alanine to form Ni gly+, Ni (gly)2, Ni al+, and Ni (al)2 complexes. The purpose of this study is to determine and present as completely as possible the Book of Mormon's contribution to the historicity of the Old Testament's events and characters in order that teachers may have another instrument for the effective direction of learning in Old Testament history. Therefore, it is the purpose of this study to determine and point out to the teacher the areas in which the Book of Mormon complements the Old Testament, and sustans its truthfulness as a historically accurate record.
