This study assessed if women who are survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse and receive treatment for this issue, when they were in treatment for substance abuse, stayed sober longer and thus experienced a healthier and happier recovery. The benefit of this research is two-fold as it not only leads to better treatment programs for women who have this co-occurring condition, it also allows for better treatment outcomes and as a result is more cost effective for treatment agencies. The data was collected confidentially through surveys that were distributed at 10 local Alcoholic's Anonymous meetings in the Inland Empire area.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between perception of physical features, racial identity attitudes, and self-esteem of Black adolescent females. Thirty-eight Black adolescent females, ranging from 14 to 19 years old, were administered a survey packet including a Demographic Questionnaire, The Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale, and a shortened version of the 50-item Racial Identity Attitude Scale.

The purpose of this study was to examine social workers' perceptions of the effectiveness of animal assisted therapy (AAT) within social work practice throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. This study focused on AAT and the therapeutic contribution animals have offered to individuals suffering from a mental health illness, such as depression. The interventions used for depression or other mental illness rarely entail AAT because of lack of education and traning.

The purpose of this study is to highlight the services that are beneficial and highlight additional services that are needed in order to facilitate a successful transition for emancipating foster youth. This study shows how self-sufficiency in emancipating foster youth is affected by the services provided by the Independent Living Skills (ILP) program. Face-to-face interviews were completed with ILP participants as data collected source and quantitative research was conducted using surveys and focus groups to obtain firsthand information and personal experiences from former foster youth themselves.

The purpose of the study was to assess the correlations between a young female's body image, the corresponding levels of depression, and the impact on her feelings about the experiences of intimate relationships. This research study examined the link between body image dissatisfaction, depression, and sexual attitudes among college women. This study hypothesized that various factors such as age, religion, and ethnicity may affect body image dissatisfaction. College women are a vulnerable population. This study utilized quantitative research methods through surveys that were administered to 120 college women between 18 and 30, with 83 women actually responding.

The HIV/AIDS pandemic has struck the prison systems with exceptional voracity. While some prisons have attempted to address the problem with educational programming and case management, Malmsebury prison in South Africa has incorporated a restorative justice component to add to the offender's sense of efficacy and leadership skills once released back into the community. The purpose of this study is to advance knowledge in the area of case management services by investigating "what characteristics are most frequent in clients who complete the case management program and in clients who did not complete the case management provided through the Montclair Community Collaborative (MCC)." This research addresses case management services and centers on obtaining client data pertaining to case management services, focusing on the family's outcome. The general research methodology consisted of a qualitative review (content analysis) of an existing data set (case records). This study examined a random sample of 130 MCC case management studies.

This paper discusses the problem the researcher finds in the lack of information on what people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) are looking for in support groups that are designed around specifically for people with MS. This paper discusses what MS is, the reasoning on designing a study on this topic, and the significance of the project to social work. The type of research design that was used to find this information was a survey questionaire. Theoretical within the context of a social comparison model. A total of 58 people completed the survey.
