This study focuses on producing and characterizing protein-polyphenol complexes derived from pea and hemp proteins, paired with a variety of polyphenols including 2,4-Dihydroxybenzoic acid, Ferulic acid, and Rutin. The complexes were characterized using various techniques: UV-visible spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, total phenolic content analysis, and radical scavenging activities. Further, oil-in-water emulsions stabilised using these protein-polyphenol complexes and starch were explored as delivery systems for curcumin respectively. The formation of complexes was revealed by UV-visible spectroscopy, which indicated significant changes in the spectra of hemp and pea proteins upon complexation with polyphenols. This thesis presents the process of conducting the structural analysis of AlAinSat-1 CubeSat through a numerical solution using Siemens NX. AlAinSat-1 is a 3U remote-sensing CubeSat carrying two earth observation payloads. The CubeSat is scheduled for launch on SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket. To ensure the success of the mission and its ability to withstand the launch environment, several scenarios should be analyzed. Pharmaceutical waste management is essential for mitigating environmental risks associated with improper medication disposal, with pharmacists playing a pivotal role in drug take-back programs (DTBPs). However, there is limited understanding of pharmacists' engagement, perceptions, and challenges within these initiatives. This study aimed to address this gap by investigating these aspects among licensed pharmacists in the United States. A mixed-methods survey was distributed to 2200 pharmacists, yielding 81 responses (3.7% response rate). The findings revealed that familiarity with DTBPs did not significantly differ by state or practice setting, but positively correlated with experience and perceived effectiveness. This paper proposes a new reading of the painting Punishment of a Hunter (1647-1652) by Dutch painter Paulus Potter through the lens of its unique position in seventeenth-century Dutch art with regards to allegory, human and animal caricature, human nature, class, and the influence of economic growth and complexity of class in Amsterdam. During the 2022/2023 Antarctic summer, eight pico balloon flights from Neumayer Station III unveiled insights into Antarctic troposphere/stratospheric winds (9 - 15 km AMSL). The most impressive flight lasted an astounding 98 days, completing eight circumnavigations of the Southern Hemisphere. Flight data indicated zonal velocities from -50 to 250 km/hr and meridional velocities of ±100 km/hr, with total wind speeds from 2.0 to 270 km/hr. Pico balloons can ascend due to convection, altering their float density. They also drift further south than larger stratospheric balloons, reaching latitudes close to the south pole. Ambrisentan, an FDA-approved selective antagonist of the Endothelin Type A Receptor (ETAR) for pulmonary arterial hypertension, has shown potential in limiting cancer growth and metastasis. While effective treatment options for melanoma remain elusive, this study investigates the effects of Ambrisentan on invasive, metastatic B16F10 melanoma using a syngeneic mouse model, aiming to assess Ambrisentan’s impact on tumor growth, metastasis, and overall host survival in B16F10 melanoma, along with gaining mechanistic insights into ETAR antagonism.
