Therapists views of the nature, function, and effect of the self-actualizing capacity in their clients were investigated. Variation in views as a function of therapists ' gender, experience, and theoretical orientation was also examined. The researcher gathered the information by randomly selecting psychologists from the American Psychological Association's Register and as king 35 men and 25 women to respond to a 12-quest ion self -administered questionnaire.

Interventions which are available and have been utilized in the schools, community and therapy are reviewed. Food can be preserved by irradiation which is the exposure of food to ionising radiation, high energy electron from electron beams or X-rays or gamma rays from Cobalt-60 or Cesium-137 radioisotopes. Irradiation does not leave a residue in the food and it does not make it radioactive. The low level energy levels of Cobalt and Cesium isotopic gamma rays does not induce any radioactivity. Irradiation has the same preservative effect on food as heat treatment, but because irradiation does not appreciably raise the temperature of the food, it is known as 'cold sterilization'.

The synthesis of bis(quadridentate)-zirconium (IV) complexes was completed of which two new complexes, bis(N,N'-disalicylidene-cis-1,2,diamino-cyclohexane( zirconium (IV) and bis(N,N'disalicylidene-trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane)zirconium(IV), were deemed suitable for physical and chemical comparisons to bis(N,N'-disalicylidene-1,2-phenylenediamino)-zirconium(IV). Using H-NMR spectroscopy at low temperatures, it was determined that the interconversion of the cyclohexane moiety of bis(N,N'disalicylidene-cis-1,2-diaminocyclohexane) zirconium(IV) begins to slow whereas, the motions associated with the backbones of the other two complexes do not. Furthermore, using H-NMR spectroscopy, it was determined that heating solutions of pairs of the complexes for four days at 155 C causes the complex to exchange ligands to form mixed-ligand complexes.

The efficiency of using substructuring in the dynamic analysis of small models is examined by using a university version of ANSYS to perform a series of four case studies on a small, 648 degree of freedom model. The model is based upon the monocoque center section for an automotive space structure and was constructed using STTF 63 plate elements. The goal of this thesis was to design and implement a dialog facility to assist novice users of the MS-DOS operating system. A small natural language interface facility called PE-DOS (Plain English DOS) was built, which serves as a front end for a subset of simple MS-DOS commands. PE-DOS accepts English-like terminology and translates it into the appropriate MS-DOS command using a system of recursive transition networks (RTNs). This thesis investigates a character recognition method inspired by the premise that humans recognize shapes using their ability to assimilate a set of primitive features. These features collectively create a higher level shape of a certain category. The primitive features employed in our method include horizontal, vertical, diagonal lines, and corners of various orientations positioned at various places within a character. Through the use of a parameter checker that was developed from an existing compiler, the frequency and type of parameter errors over several releases of an application are studied. Colouring t-designs has previously been shown to be an NP-complete problem; heuristics and a practical algorithm for this problem were developed for this thesis; the algorithm was then employed to find the chromatic numbers of the sixteen non- isomorphic 2-(25, 4, 1) designs and the four cyclic 2-(19, 3, 1) designs. A brief review of curve fitting terminology is presented, and the cubic spline interpolation scheme is outlined. Parametric and non-parametric curve fitting techniques are compared. The technique to fit parametric cubic splines is derived using the Euler- Lagrange formulation. Previous work on splines in tension is identified. Employing the notion of splines in tension, a method is proposed to fit a parametric curve to a set of (n + 1) points in ^-dimension space satisfying a specified set of boundary conditions.
