Effects Of Training And Contact On Decreasing Ageism In Mental Health Professionals, Kristen Lyn Nachtmann
Theses
Advances in research on attitudes towards older adults can productively be applied to the problem of professional ageism. In this study a group of 50 mental health professionals ranging in age from 19-65 with 21 being male and 29 being female responded to a questionnaire entitled Aging Opinion Survey. Quality Assisted Living For Older Adults, A Study Of Three Single Family Homes, A Viable Housing Alternative To Institutionalization, Rhonda Lynn Dahlberg
Theses
Long-term care is one of the greatest threats to the financial security of older Americans and their families. People are living longer and because of this many are becoming frail, developing functional impairments and suffering from chronic illnesses. In the past, elderly people did not have many options when health problems made running a household too difficult to manage. It then became necessary to explore other housing alternatives. Previously, nursing homes were the traditional solution for individuals without the family resources to help them stay at home.
Today, new housing options are emerging. These housing options are gaining considerable attention. …

The United States Army Reserve Personnel Center (ARPERCEN) manages, trains, and mobilizes Army personnel. Its largest directorate is the Personnel Records Management Directorate, which houses the Accessions Division. At least 200,000 hard-copy personnel records pass through the Division for verification and processing in a typical year.
Eighty percent of hard-copy records transferred to ARPERCEN were also transferred electronically; however all were band-processed as if new. This entire accessioning process was redundant and inefficient.
Change was coming. The Reserve …

Student Attitudes Toward Individuals With Disabilities: Inclusive Versus Traditional Classrooms In Elementary School, Heather Young
Theses
In recent years, many schools have begun to include students with disabilities in general education classrooms. Studies on "inclusion," have shown several positive effects for students with and without disabilities. This study examines the self-reported attitudes of 185 elementary school students in inclusive and traditional classrooms, as measured by the Scale of Children's Attitudes Toward Exceptionalities (SCATE). Self-reported attitudes and experiences of general education teachers were also assessed using a survey developed by the researcher. Although statistically significant relationships were found on the SCATE, these were not logical or conclusive. Results of the teacher surveys indicate that teachers of inclusive …

A random sample of one-third of all of the Licensed Professional Counselors in the state of Missouri (N = 440) were mailed a 2 packet containing the MBTI Form G, a demographic form, and a Likert-type scale to indicate overall level of directiveness in counseling. For the 226 counselors who responded (51.4%), it was found that there was no relationship between level of directiveness and gender, years in practice, Extraversion/Introversion …

No significant differences were found between the White, Black and Hispanic groups on the basis of the overall Performance Scale IQ scores. However, the White students' scores on the Verbal Scale were significantly higher than …

Measurement Of The Electroencephalogram (Eeg) Coherence, Atmospheric Noise, And Schumann Resonances In Group Meditation, Douglas A. Newandee
Measurement Of The Electroencephalogram (Eeg) Coherence, Atmospheric Noise, And Schumann Resonances In Group Meditation, Douglas A. Newandee
Theses
Electrical activity in the human body was investigated using EEG and ECG measurements while subjects remained with eyes open, eyes closed and in a meditation state. During these measurements, additional antennas were attached to the equipment to record atmospheric noise and signal activity simultaneously. The obtained data was analyzed and various observations were made. Processed data based on antenna signals clearly showed the presence of man-made signals, having narrow spectral widths that could be treated as atmospheric noise in the frequency range up to 50 Hz. In addition, signals clustered around 7.8, 14.1, 20.3, 26.4, and 32.5 Hz were observed …
