This study investigates the properties of rhythm in Malaysian English (MalE), which has been described as a syllable-timed language. However, studies have shown that instead of a binary distinction, languages can be more or less stress or syllable timed depending on factors like speaking context. This thesis is set against the backdrop of the wider multilingual and postcolonial context and local language revitalisation efforts. The language in study, Malacca Portuguese Creole (MPC), is a Portuguese-based contact language undergoing language shift, spoken as heritage language by a concentrated population of approximately 800 people (Baxter, 2013) in the main research site, Portuguese Settlement (PS), Malacca, West Malaysia. Kajian ini membincangkan mengenai aspek kala gaya bahasa nafi dalam Juz ‘Amma. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti aspek kala dalam gaya bahasa nafi bahasa Arab dan menganalisis penggunaan gaya bahasa nafi dalam al-Quran al-Karim dan hubung kaitnya dengan unsur kala dalam Juz ‘Amma. Tiga instrumen digunakan dalam kajian ini, iaitu penelitian (istiqrā’), deskriptif dan analisis data. Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengkaji penggunaan Kaedah Pengajaran Bahasa Berasaskan Tugasan (KPBBT) di Pusat Asasi UIAM. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tahap pemahaman pensyarah terhadap kaedah ini dan pengalaman mereka menggunakan kaedah tersebut dalam pengajaran bahasa Arab. Di samping itu, penulis telah meninjau persepsi pelajar terhadap pengajaran pensyarah yang menggunakan KPBBT di dalam kelas dan keberkesanan kaedah ini dalam memperbaiki mutu pembelajaran bahasa Arab mereka.
