OBJECTIVES: To assess imaging findings at presentation in children diagnosed with influenza A (H1N1) infection. METHODS: This is a retrospective observational cohort study conducted at The Children9s Hospital affiliated to Soochow University, Suzhou, China between September 2009 and March 2010. Nasopharyngeal swabs and bronchial aspirate samples from 81 children with acute respiratory infections were tested positive for influenza A (H1N1) using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Researchers looking for health statistics on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) may face difficulty. This is partly due to the lack of awareness of potential sources where such statistics can be found. The purpose of this paper is to review various online sources of health statistics on KSA, and to highlight their content, coverage, and presentation of health statistics. Five bibliographic databases where local research can be found are described. National registries available are summarized. OBJECTIVES: To investigate factors influencing the increase in cesarean section CS rates, and to implement control measures. METHODS: This retrospective analysis reviewed the birth registry of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. We compared the frequency of different indications for CS between January 2007 and December 2008. The numbers of CS studied were 1105 in 2007, while they were 1226 in the year 2008. OBJECTIVE: To screen a large number of patients with influenza-like symptoms by using the gold-immunochromatographic assay kit. METHODS: All patients with influenza-like symptoms visiting the outpatient department of the General Hospital of Beijing Military Region, Beijing, China between May 2009 and January 2010 were enrolled in the study. Nasopharyngeal swabs were collected immediately after the patient visited, then a gold-immunochromatographic assay was performed for screening of influenza A and B viruses according to the kit protocol. OBJECTIVE: To study Saudi patients9 perception of nursing care delivered by non-Arabic speaking nurses (NASNs). METHODS: A cross-sectional survey of randomly selected patients admitted to King Abdul-Aziz Medical City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia during the summer of 2009. We conducted structured face-to-face interviews, and the Institutional Review Board approved the study. RESULTS: We interviewed 116 patients with a 100% response rate. The mean age was 48 years and 47% were men. Half was illiterate or had a low level of education. Eighty percent was served by NASNs. METHODS: This cross sectional study was conducted in May 2009 to October 2009 through a survey questionnaire, which was distributed to all licensed primary care physicians in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The study took place in the Princes Al-Johara Al-Ibrahim Center for Cancer Research, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate that habitual behaviors related to genital hygiene in women living in a Health Care Center Area. METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, 400 women were sampled to represent women in reproductive ages (15-49 ages) living in the Park Health Care Center Area, Ankara, Turkey between June and September 2008. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the resident doctors9 competency in professionalism and communication skills in south China. METHODS: We conducted this cross-sectional study in 8 hospitals, in 4 provinces of southern China from October to December 2007. The evaluation included 148 resident doctors. A 360-degree instrument from Education Outcomes Service Group (EOS group) of the Arizona Medical Education Consortium was developed and used by the attending physicians, residents, and their peers, nurses, patients, and office staff in this study.
