Antimicrobial resistance is a global public health issue that, exacerbated by inappropriate antibiotic use, leads to reduced bactericidal effects, multidrug resistance, increased medical costs, prolonged hospital stays, and higher mortality rates. This study evaluates the antibacterial and antifungal activity of the es-sential oil of Hedyosmum cuatrecazanum Occhioni against various clinically relevant bacterial and fungal strains. The essential oil was extracted by hydrodistillation, yielding a 0.26% extract. Its components were characterized by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results demonstrate that the essential oil exhibits significant antibacterial activity, comparable to commercial antibiotics. Hedyosmum cuatrecazanum oil showed the highest antibacterial …

A Neutrosophic Framework For Artificial Immune Systems, Antonios Paraskevas, Florentin Smarandache

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

Artificial immune systems (AIS) draw inspiration from the mechanisms of the natural immune system. They extract ideas from the functioning of the natural immune system in order to use them to build computer models to solve real-world problems. While traditional AIS models mimic the biological immune system’s capacity to distinguish between self and non-self entities, they often face challenges in environments where data may be incomplete or ambiguous. In this paper we introduce neutrosophic AIS that includes degrees of truthiness, falsehood and indeterminacy to better address ambiguity within pattern recognition tasks. Within this neutrosophic framework we discuss and redefine main …

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

This study presents a model based on a fuzzy-neutrosophic approach to evaluate the academic integrity of university students in the context of uncertainty. The central issue of the research lies in the abrupt transition from in-person education to virtual learning caused by the pandemic, which increased fraudulent behaviors in teaching and learning environments, making it difficult to determine the level of academic integrity among students in higher education institutions. To address this issue, variables related to dishonesty—motivation, justification, and opportunities—were analyzed. Three evaluation scenarios were conducted, yielding positive results. The proposed approach, based on fuzzy logic and neutrosophy, effectively measured …

Neutrosophic Cognitive Map For The Analysis Of Substances Subject To Control, Bryan Joel Morales Sánchez, Cristian Fernando Benavides Salazar, Julio Cesar Benavides Salazar, Erika Estefanía Barreiro Cedeño, Yusleidy Marlie Gordo Gómez

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

This study addresses the central problem of analyzing the commercialization of controlled substances using a neutrosophic cognitive map approach, a tool that has been little explored in this context. The need to investigate this phenomenon lies in the increasing complexity and ambiguity of controlled substances markets, where factors such as regulation, consumer behavior, government policies, and the evolution of supply and demand, generate a highly uncertain and dynamic environment. Despite previous research in the field of commercialization of these substances, traditional approaches fail to capture the interaction and combined effects of the multiple elements that influence the market. This study …

Plithogenic Hypothesis On The Influence Of Electronic Com-Merce On Retail Sales Dynamics In Shopping Centers, Rosa Maria Criollo Delgado, Julio Cesar Vidal Rischmoller, Eluard Alexander Mendoza Zenozain

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

The present research addresses the growing argument on the ways in which e-commerce is changing dynamics in shopping centers by offering a plitogenic hypothesis that looks into the intricacies between the two worlds. The present research goes into duality of these selling environments and their coexistence in a backdrop of chal-lenging traditional models of buying which digital platforms are. Despite the rich literature on electronic com-merce and retail, most of the studies have isolated perspectives on the subject, avoiding interrelations that properly emerge from online commerce and physical shopping centers. The study attempts to fill that theoreti-cal gap by applying …

Application Of Neutrosophic Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Tech-Niques For Assessing Violations Of Child Support Rights, Vanessa Lisseth Montenegro Altamirano, Jaime Rodrigo Cadena Morillo, Carmen Marina Méndez Cabrita, Ricardo Sánchez Casanova

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

The study addresses a crucial challenge in the analysis of rights violations by applying neutrosophic methods. Specifically, it investigates how multi-criteria assessment tools can provide a more precise and nuanced approach to addressing rights violations, a topic that remains of global relevance, given the complexity and diversity of situations that occur in different contexts. The existing literature, although abundant in human rights studies, of-ten lacks approaches that integrate the uncertainty and ambiguity inherent in these cases, limiting the effective-ness of conventional analyses. This work fills that gap by implementing a neutrosophic approach that captures these dynamics more effectively and adequately. …

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

The present study investigates the evolution of social competence in students through research methods based on set theory and the application of neutrosophic sets. The central question lies in how to accurately assess the development of social skills in educational contexts, given that traditional tools do not always capture the complexity of students' interactions and perceptions. The importance of this topic lies in the need for evaluation methods that faithfully reflect the growth in social competencies, vital for the comprehensive development of students in increasingly diverse and demanding educational environments. Despite the abundance of studies on social competencies, there is …

Applying Neutrosophic Natural Language Processing To Analyze Complex Phenomena In Interdisciplinary Contexts, Diego Fernando Coka Flores, Ignacio Fernando Barcos Arias, María Elena Infante Miranda, Omar Mar Cornelio

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

The paper addresses the challenge of integrating natural language processing (NLP) with neutrosophic logic to solve problems where uncertainty, ambiguity, and indeterminacy play a critical role. This approach becomes particularly relevant in an increasingly digitalized world, where human-machine interaction requires a deeper understanding of linguistic and contextual nuances. Despite advances in conventional NLP, many existing methodologies lack tools to effectively manage undefined or contradictory elements present in real data. In this context, neutrosophic logic offers an innovative framework to model and analyze complex and multifaceted human perceptions. The study applies a methodology that combines advanced NLP techniques with neutrosophic analytical …
